"(Y/N)?"

She couldn't help but freeze as the demon had muttered her name. She knew better than to let her guard down around a demon, but she couldn't help but feel very put off by the fact that this demon before her knew her name. It was very nerve racking and...familiar...?

'Maybe this demon has an ability that can tell what my name is...? That'd be pretty useless but, it would work to throw off the enemy...'

(Y/N) tried to reason, try to find a reason to explain how the demon knew her name but made sure she kept her eyes on him as he looked right back at her. After a while, she noted how he began to tremble and mutter to himself. The webs that were connecting his fingers fell from his finger tips as he brought both his hands up to his chest as he clutched at his clothed chest. 

"(Y/N)..."

"H...How do you know my name, demon?"

At the mention of the word 'demon' he seemed to flinch a bit but never lost his composure, well as much as he had before he began to act shaken. If anything, he shook his head a bit before he dropped his hands back down to his waist. 

"No. She's dead. She died, you're not her."

(Y/N) took note of how he began to shake more and more before his head dropped down. She couldn't hear him but, she could guess it wasn't a good thing. She had carefully jumped down from the tree and made a run for it, running the direction Inosuke and Tanjiro ran to, leaving the demon to continue pondering.

"It's not her. It's not her. You saw her corpse long ago. It's not her. It's not her. It's not her. It's n-"

He had abruptly stopped chanting to himself as he took note of how the doppelganger had fled. The grip on his clothed chest tightened as he steadied his breathing. He stared at where she was before his eyes lowered back into their regular bored look. His hand lowered back to his waist,

"She's dead."

Back with (Y/N) she had gotten farther and farther from the demon. She didn't know why but, her heart wouldn't stop racing even before she began to run. There something about that demon that scared her, not in the traditional sense of scare but, it knew her name. How? Why? She didn't know and frankly she felt as if she would be better off knowing.

Before long, (Y/N) had finally found someone, Tanjiro. He seemed to be standing in place, staring at a spot on the ground with a gentle and...sympathetic look on his face. Tanjiro seemed to have been alerted by someone approaching and turned to see (Y/N) running over to him. 

"(Y/N)! Your safe! I thought something happened to you, where were you!?"

"I'm just fine don't worry about me. Better yet where is Inosuke?"

"Ah! That's right, I left him with a twelve Kizuni!"

"WA-You did what?!?!?!"

"Oi, it wasn't my fault! I got tossed here!"

"We have to help him! He could die going up against a Kizuni by himself!"

"I know but, I don't know where he is!"

"Oh shi-"

Before (Y/N) could finish her sentence, a scream rung throughout the forest. It sent a chill up her spine and made Tanjiro jump. Without missing a beat, Tanjiro began to run in the direction of the scream came from. (Y/N) followed suit.
