"Well, I suppose everyone deserves a second chance."

Rui's face lit up at that as he engulfed them into a hug, a rare smile present on his face. He snuggled his face into their neck as he hugged them tighter. (Y/N) heaved out a sigh as they pat his back.

"Say, Rui...How did you get here?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...there are butlers and maids that guard my door and the halls, and you were right in front of said door."

"Oh. Them. I killed them."

"...I should've expected that."

(Y/N) gently pushed Rui away as they made their way to their door-opened their door fully to indeed see corpses of the staff, just lying in a pool of their own blood. They looked back to Rui to see him looking over the book they were reading beforehand.

"Well, you made this mess and you're going to clean it up. Hopefully before Mrs. Higashi wakes."

"Mrs. Higashi?"

"Yeah, she like, my-um guardian in sense. She takes care of me."

" Like a mother...?"

"Yeah, sure, I guess."

With that, Rui, under the watchful eyes of (Y/N) threw the bodies off of the estate only to get a hard smack on the back of his head, scolding him to hide them as Mrs. Higashi would, without a doubt, notice the bodies.

"Since you're taking too long, I'll get to work on cleaning after you."

And just as they said, they left his side to go grab some cleaning products. It took a while, but they found them in a closet on the other side of the estate in a worn out closest that had seen better days. They made haste and grabbed a wooden bucket with (dirty) water and some rags.

"But won't the smell of blood just linger?"

They knew they had to be careful and smart about this. Even disposing of the bodies and getting rid of the blood stains, there'd a noticeable smell. She may not notice what is causing the smell, but they'd rather not take that chance.

'Where can I find some incense or something to cover the s-'

"(Y/N) ...?"

A groggy voice had entered the chat as (Y/N) had nearly jumped out of their skin. They whipped around to see Mrs. Higashi leaning on a door, arms crossed, and eyes squinted as she looked at them. They looked from her to the door, that had been her room...crap.

"What're you doing up so late? Shouldn't you be in bed asleep?"

"Well, I wanted to...um...see where the incense is? My room has been smelly, lately."

"Smelly...? Did you-oh, never mind. You could've just called the maids and butlers."

"I know, but I wanted to do it myself."

"Now that I'm thinking about it, where are the butlers and maids...?"

"Um...maybe they left for home earlier. They do have lives you know."

"...I supposed so...Well, you best get going to bed."

"Yes, will do...!"

With that, (Y/N) tried to go back down the hall only for Mrs. Higashi's footsteps to catch their attention. They stopped in their tracks-looked back to see Mrs. Higashi tiredly following after them.

"Mrs.-Mom, why're you following me?"

"To walk you to your room of course. You never know what could be happening."

"I'm more than capable to go to my room, by myself. I'm a big girl/boy/...!"

"I'm...I'm most aware of that, but I'd rather walk you there, to be sure."

"But I-"

"Well, we best get going. We don't have all night."

Mrs. Higashi interlocked her fingers with (Y/N)'s as they made their way down the hall. They begrudgingly followed along to not try and raise suspicion, even though them being out of their room in the middle of the night was suspicious enough.

The sloshing of water reminded them that there was still blood in the region where they resided. Panic filled them as they got closer and closer to their destination. They tried their best to compose themselves whenever Mrs. Higashi would look at them from time to time, taking note of their increasingly sweaty palms.

"My dear, are you alright? You seem very nervous."

"No, Mrs-Mom. I'm fine."

"Are you sure. You look nervous and your hands are very sweaty."

"Oh. They're like that because, you're holding my hand very tightly."

"Ah, I see. I apologize."

Mrs. Higashi had muttered but did not release their hand from her grip...Too fast for their liking they had made it to their room. However, what greeted them was...a pretty normal hallway. The blood stains and bodies were gone but the iron smell still remained. Mrs. Higashi definitely noticed.

"Hmmm, what is that God awful smell?"

"Hunh."

Mrs. Higashi looked around the hallways before she led them to their room. Surprisingly, there was a dark stain on the floor, near their futon. It was very noticeable as Mrs. Higashi noticed right away.

"..."

"........"

"Dear?"

"Y-yes?"

"Did you pee yourself?"

"MA'AM-"

"No, Rui. I think we shouldn't communicate with one another anymore."

With that Rui had left the estate, feeling dejected and deeply wounded. (Y/N) did feel upset to some capacity but not enough. At some point, Douma had caught wind of this and shared such news with the others. Most didn't really care except Daki who took great pleasure in teasing the poor boy and often praised and congratulated (Y/N) for getting rid of the toxic, as she'd put it.

(Y/N) went on about their life

The ones who suffered the most from this was Rui's family as they were the main targets of his wrath, even the small, defenseless, and fragile ones.
The mother suffered tenfold.
The father didn't escape his wrath as he often took it without complaint.
The youngest of the bunch often were reduced to a crying and wailing mess left on the ground or floor.
He inflicted pain that even for a demon took a while to heal. Ranging from hours, days, weeks, months even.

At times, (Y/N) regretted not making amends. Maybe then, others wouldn't have to suffer.
