22. drop offs

"You two are on in 5. Don't forget what we talked about" Jen told Ricky and Nini as they waited to be announced for the interview.

The two pop stars nodded before taking each other's hands in theirs. The nerves were starting to get to them.

Jen and Mazzara set up an interview for them the night before their song dropped, and Nini was due to leave for Paris the following morning.

They thought she'd have more time but Jen wanted to leave earlier to avoid any mishaps that might happen, and to give her a little time to get used to Paris before things got super hectic.

"You nervous?" Ricky asked Nini

"Not really, as long as I have my best friend on the stage with me I think I'll be okay" she said looking out into the audience. She's done hundreds of interviews before, but this one was different.

"Sorry, Kourtney isn't here" Ricky joked and Nini laughed lightly before hitting him.

"I can't stand you" she laughed

"Alright! Now welcoming to the stage, one of the hottest couples as of right now. Ricky Bowen and Nini Salazar-Roberts" Jimmy Fallon announced.

The two plastered a smile on their faces and walked out together. Their hands were still interlocked and the crowd went crazy.

The two sat down keeping their hands interlocked, and waited for the audience to quiet down before Jimmy Fallon greeted them.

"Hi guys welcome to my show!" He said and the audience applauded "I'm a big fan of both of you and I'm really excited to have you here today"

"Thank you so much for having us Jimmy we're so excited to be here as well" Nini responded and Ricky nodded as a form of agreement.

"So you two are dropping a song tonight. How are both of you feeling about that? Are you excited? Nervous? What exactly are you feeling?"

"I think I can speak for both of us when I say we are super excited for everyone to hear the song we've been working on" Ricky said

"Yeah I definitely agree with Ricky's. We're both super excited for the release of our song. It's definitely different from the music that I usually put out and I've learned a ton by working with Ricky" Nini smiled

"And you two have quite an interesting past when it comes to your relationship together right? Can you guys tell me about that?"

"Yeah of course. I'm sure everyone had seen Ricky's tweet where he said my music is overrated. Even before the tweet we had a very rocky relationship but in a way it's what brought us together so I guess you can say that I'm grateful that it happened." Nini said before smiling at Ricky and he returned the gesture.

"Yeah, I'd also like to say that I don't think that Nini's music is overrated. I don't think that i gave it a fair chance before, but now after actually listening to her music and taking in the lyrics I can say that she's a very talented singer/ songwriter and her music is amazing. Nini deserves every bit of attention and praise she gets" Ricky added "and I'm not just saying that because she's my girlfriend" he chuckled and the audience along with Nini and Jimmy followed suit.

"Do you guys think we should be expecting more music collabs from you two in the future?"

"I don't know, we'll just have to see"

"Well thank you to both of you for joining me here today. It's really been a pleasure having you!"

"Thanks for having us!" Ricky responded before the two walked off the stage hand in hand.
