Ni-ki

I woke up with the sun shining right in my eyes. I turned around and checked my phone to see what time was it.

Three missed calls from mom, one missed call, and 4 text messages from Ta-ki...What? Did something bad happen?? No right...?

I called mom back, although she didn't pick up, so I tried calling Ta-ki.

"Ta-ki? What's up-"

"Where the fuck are you Ni-ki?"- he screamed

"Shh, you're too loud I just woke up."

"Then get the hell up right now! Have you looked at the time?"

I got so distracted with my phone that I completely forgot to check the time and...HOLY SHIT. It's 9 am. Crap, I forgot we had a tour and introduction today!

"Oh my god, wait a minute I'll be ready right away"

With that, I opened the closet, took some pants and a T-shirt, put on deodorant and perfume, brushed my teeth, and ran to the meeting place.

"I apologize for my tardiness, sir, it won't happen again."

"I sure hope not."-the intimidating man said

After that, I tagged along Ta-ki and talked as we walked around the school.

"How did you manage to be late on your first day? I mean, don't you have a roommate to wake you up?"

"Uhm...it's a long story."

"Well we have time so spill it!"

"My roommate didn't sleep in our room today, so he couldn't wake me up. But that's not the whole story. I'm roommates with Sunoo and...let's just say neither of us is happy with it. And the worst part is that we can't change it for at least a year."

With that sentence, Ta-ki started laughing hysterically, making me put my hand over his mouth so that the teacher wouldn't hear him.

"Shh, why are you laughing?"

"Hahahaha oh my god, sorry, it's just so funny"- Ta-ki managed to say while still laughing uncontrollably

"I still don't understand what's so funny dude..."

"I don't understand your relationship at all, I mean what kind of enemy/rival/therapist thing is that?? But it's ironic how after all that happened between you two, you guys still ended up together. What are the odds hahaha!"

"YOU'RE telling ME that? C'mon, from everyone why did it have to be him!"- I said, a bit too loudly, fortunately, the teacher didn't hear me

"By the way, I still don't know why you hate him?"

"He's the one who started it! I wanted to be his friend but every time I'd try to talk to him he would just make a disgusting face or ignore me. After a while, I gave up and just started treating him the same way."

"I'm sorry but that just sounds stupid. Besides, didn't you two talk about your worries and all that therapist-type thing?"

"That was ONE time. After that, we barely even talked. Also, it's easier to confide in a stranger than a friend sometimes, cause the opinion of someone who doesn't know anything about you can give you another perspective and help more."

"I get it. But don't you think you can start building a friendship out of that? I think you two should talk a bit because this all seems like a big misunderstanding. Trust me, I've heard both sides."

What Ta-ki said made me think for some time. I mean, we will have to share the room for a year, if more, so why not give it a try.
