Rain pelted the windows, as Jules entered the empty Garrison pub, the Shelby family sat waiting the minute she entered.

The smell of smoke laid thick in the room as well as the tension. "Let's get this over with." She muttered to her brother as they both walked in further.

"Hello, Mr Shelby." She smiled politely. The three men in front of her shared a look of scepticism.

One of the men stood up, his blue eyes piercing. "Are you Jules?" He asked, his voice deep and accent strong. "I am." She replied sternly, quickly.

Her voice was strong, independent as she moved to sit down. "Don't look so surprised gentlemen." She teased, a small smile appearing.

The others soon sat, "sit down James, it's okay." She muttered, her brother soon doing as told. It was clear out of the two who was in charge. "So you're the one we've been trying to get a meeting with for weeks?" The question came out roughly from an unknown man who sat next to the blue eyed man- who she assumed was in charge.

"And who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?" She asked back, lighting a cigarette as she waited for a respond. "Arthur Shelby Miss." His chest puffed in pride.

Taking an inhale she stared into his slightly hooded eyes. "Well, Mr Shelby, I'm a busy woman who doesn't have time for small business."

Her brother smirked at her reply, she always knew what to say. "But you're business has potential, and it's growing exponentially."

Arthur's face seemed to release its scowl at her response, she didn't talk down to him like others had in the past.

"Now." She began, a folder being handed to her swiftly. "What is the business you'd like to discuss?" It was strange how polite, and happy yet stern she was.

"We know you fix races with Billy Kimber, we want to fix them with your permission." It wasn't an unreasonable request, Jules saw the money they would make.

She however soon remembered the real reason she was there." Oh that reminds me." She sighed out, turning her attention now to the open file- pulling out papers of their past races.

"It is clear, to me that you Mr Shelby, along with your family have been fixing races for weeks now. With neither mine or Mr Kimber's permission." The men clearly went stiff, realising she wasn't as stupid as she may look.

"I'm a realistic woman Mr Shelby, I see something that's good, and I make it better." Arthur couldn't help but grow admiration for the woman.

He sat back in his chair smugly. "You're like an attractive genie aren't you love?" His question was rhetorical, bordering on being a statement.

Jules could feel her brother stiffen at the remark that was made confidently. "Don't belittle a woman down to her looks, don't judge a woman because of what's between her legs."

The tension grew and her tone quickly changed. "I'm doing this as a gesture. If Mr Kimber had found of before me, let's just say he wouldn't wait to schedule a meeting."

The business continued, Jules shaking Thomas Shelby's hand as she left to go propose their business to Billy Kimber.
