Jules spent most of the day within the betting den, getting to know the business until Thomas soon arrived.
She checked her watch quickly, seeing that it was nearly six o'clock in the afternoon, deciding it was best to leave.
"It was lovely to see you all." She admitted, standing up to look at the three men as they drank a glass of whiskey each. It was true, she did enjoy seeing Arthur and John, Thomas having only just arrived.
Jules learnt of how interesting and fascinating the two Shelby's were in their own unique way. They both had their own charming quirks, John always having a signature smirk that held a toothpick- Arthur had a specific nervousness to him, his eyes would scrunch and he'd rub the back of his neck.
"You're leaving? So soon?" Asked Thomas, a questioning tone came out as he stuck his hands into his pockets.
"Afraid so." She politely muttered, placing her coat on quickly. "It's getting late and I have business in Camden tomorrow." Thomas' eyes raised, "Camden Town?" He asked, Jules nodding back quickly.
She didn't wait for a response, walking quickly out of the office before Thomas could ask more prying questions.
As she closed the betting den, Jules realised that she'd forgotten her cigarette case- quickly walking back into the room, she came face to face with a bow closed door.
It seemed that Arthur and Tommy were discussing business, Jules began to listen as she heard her name. "We can't marry him off Tommy." She heard, Arthur seeming concerned.
"It's the Lee's Arthur, this will settle the war between the families." Jules was furious, they were already trying to betray her and Kimber.
Opening the door she saw both met turn to fave her, Thomas' hand coming to his face as he realised she'd heard it all. "Do you mind?" He asked.
Jules scoffed, she felt irritated at their lack of transparency. But she closed the door, focusing her attention on the two males as the noise lowered.
"Sit down." She muttered, leaning against Arthur's desk as the two sat down- Arthur groaning as he felt the pain of his tight muscles.
"I know you don't like Kimber, he's an idiot, but if you want to betray him- you could at least consider to involve me." Arthur rubbed his hand over his moustache, looking sceptically over to Thomas.
"Why would you, of all people want to betray Kimber? He's your partner." Jules nodded at Arthur words, for a man so out there, so loud- he was very good at assessing people around him.
"I see him as my business partner." She began, lighting a cigarette. "But he will never see me as his equal. He sees me as a pair of tits that don't compare to him, or his money."
Jules scoffed, "quite ironic isn't it?" She asked rhetorically, her brows raising. "I'm the one who came from money, but somehow lower than him."
Thomas sighed as he tiredly leaned back into his chair. "Get to the point love." He muttered, lighting his own cigarette. "I want in." She quickly and calmly replied.
Thomas grew a smile as he chuckled, "I do Thomas, that man is everything wrong with the world."
"Quite right." Muttered Arthur in agreement. "I could easily tell Kimber of your plan." It came out like a sweet threat. "But I don't wish to, I don't see Kimber being the man he is now in five years- but I see your family being even bigger than him."
The compliments seemed to naturally flow out of Jules mouth, she really was being truthful. "I won't tell Kimber." Her voice softened. "Just keep me informed. I want weekly meetings, tell me when you plan to kill him and I'll be there, on your side."
