I had been scrolling for hours into the evening and there was nothing. No one was willing to hire a 17 yr old girl from London with no experience at all. This whole job thing was harder than I first imagined.
Just as I was about to throw in the towel I saw a nannying ad. All that was required was 'the ability to work well with young children'. It seemed perfect. I called the number under the advert and was met with a male voice which slightly confused me.
"Um..is this Linda?" I said cautiously.
"This is her husband." Was all that was said cold heartedly on the other side. Sounds like someone got out of the wrong side of bed.
"I'm calling about the nannying ad. I really think I've got the skills for this role and I-"
"I'll send over the address to this phone number. Come over at about 6pm and we'll take things from there." This man said cutting me off.
"Thank you." I said but it was too late as he had already put the phone down. Well this is gonna be a barrel of laughs.

I went upstairs and changed into something more 'job interview' before I ran down the stairs.

I almost went flying so I changed out of Aisha's heels and went and put on my white air forces. As I walked towards the front door I heard Tayler's voice from behind me.
"Where are you off to at this hour?" He said running towards me.
"Job interview." I said smiling as I opened the door and left leaving him in a state of complete and utter confusion.

I got in the Uber I called and it didn't take that long before we arrived at the house. It was quite a large house which seemed quite well kept from the outside. It was only a few streets away from Tay's house so you can imagine how rich the family who lived here must be. I quickly thanked the driver before getting out of the car and walking to the front door.

Before I had the chance to knock the door was pulled open by an older looking man in a suit. He looked like he was in his 40's. He had longer hair but it wasn't scruffy at all. He was quite fit if I'm being honest. Like if I was older I'd totally go for it.
"Come in." He said not even really looking at me. His eyes were glued to this tablet which might as well have been glued to his hand. I walked in and shut the door behind me. The house was similar to The Compound, but slightly smaller.
"I'm Paul. Pleasure to meet you." He said as he walked over to a table which he pulled out a chair for me.
"I'm Grace. Nice to meet you." I said which drew his attention.
"You're not from here?" He asked as more of a question.
"I'm originally from London, England but I'm staying here all summer with my god brother." I said as he nodded.
"Right...right. Enough small talk. So do you want the job?" He asked.
"Um..yes?" I said hesitantly.
"Why the hesitation?" He asked.
"You're offering me, a total stranger a job in which I look after your child without asking any proper questions." I said clearly concerned.
"Oh darling from the moment you called, I had your phone number traced and I got you checked. I know everything I need to know." He said making eye contact for the first time.
"My 5 yr old daughter's called Maxie and she has no allergies. I'm sure you'll cope. Have you got any questions for me?" He said as he got up ready to leave the house.
"Wait so I've got the job? Just like that? And who's Linda?"
"Yes you do have the job. I hope $300 a night is enough. And Linda is my deceased wife. Will that be all?" He said in a frosty disposition.
"Oh I'm sorry-"
"Don't be sorry. I don't want to hear it. Have a good night." He said as he shut the door behind him and went off to what I presume is work.
