The day had finally come. It was discharge day. I was finally about to leave the hospital. I got dressed and then pulled the curtain that separated me and Brandon's beds. He was still sound asleep but I was so excited to be out of this place I jumped onto him.
"Brandon! Brandon! I'm getting out of this place!" I said happily.
"...ribs..." he squeaked out before I understood what he was saying and quickly scurried off him.
"Sorry." I said quickly.
"You're all good. Never thought you'd be this happy to never see me again." He said chuckling.
"Shut up." I said rolling my eyes as I grabbed his phone and entered my number.
"When you're out we'll have to meet up." I said as I gave it back to him and sat on the edge of his bed.
"I'm really gonna miss you you know." Brandon said as he opened his arms for me to crawl into them.
"Same. I'd miss me too." I said as we cuddled in his bed and he laughed at me.
"Heyyy, who's the lady Brando?" We heard from the other side of the ward. Some guy who looked similar to Brandon but older was walking over here."Shut up Hunter." He gritted through his teeth.
"I'm just a friend." I said as I got up and went back to my bed.
"Can't believe you're pulling in hospital as well." This guy who I now know to be Hunter said.
"She said she's just a friend bro." Brandon said.
"Well nice to meet you! I'm-"
"Hunter. Brandon's older brother." I said as I outstretched my hand to him.
"Have you googled us or something." Hunter said laughing as he shook my hand. I noticed Brandon shot daggers at him.
"Googled you? Why would I have googled you?" I asked confused as I looked between the boys. Hunter and Brandon shared a look before Brandon opened his mouth to speak.
"Um...well...it's just something people say...just this phrase...right?" He said.
"Ok Brandon. Whatever you say." I said laughing it off."Babygirl you're coming home!" I heard. I instantly recognised the voice.
"Ahhh Zach!!!" I screamed as he gave me a bone crushing hug.
"Boyfriend?" Hunter said as Brandon gave him a kick from his position on the bed.
"Nah best friend." I said as I looked back over to them. Brandon more specifically.
"Oh my god ma boiss!" Zach said as he turned around and dapped up Brandon and Hunter.
"You guys know each other?" I asked Zach.
"Yeah I used to chill with these guys all the time back when we were younger. We filmed videos and did meet and greets together-"
"Hold on. Meet and greets? Have I missed something?" I asked as I looked over to Brandon.
"Yeah these guys are famous as shit!" Zach said.I just sat staring at them in shock.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Brandon.
"The same reason you didn't tell me."
"Excuse me?" I said.
"You didn't tell me you were famous. Or that your 'LA family' are famous. I started to piece things together myself."
"Fair enough." I said to him as Tayler and Vinnie came over to us.
"And I'm not famous." I said over to Brandon as he sarcastically nodded at me.
"No way! The Rowland boys!" Tayler said as he dapped up Hunter and Brandon.
"Bro it's been ages!" Hunter said back.
Vinnie hung back as he felt like a slight outsider.
"You must be Vinnie." Brandon said over to him.
"Grace has told me all about you." He said crossing his arms as I shot daggers at him.
"Really now? What has she said?" Vinnie asked smirking.
"That you broke her heart." He said. The silence was deafening.
"A long time ago. It was a very long time ago and I'm over it anyway so..."
The silence continued.
"Is that the time? Time to get going. Text me Brandon and see you around Hunter." I said as I used my crutches to walk out of the ward. I got to the door and tried to pull it open but I struggled. Like a lot.
"Need some help?!" Brandon shouted over to me. I could hear the laughter he was holding in.
"Shut up." I said turning around to him. Vinnie ran over to open the door for me.
"Thanks." I said to him.
"No problem." He said back to me.
Freedom at last.
