Chapter 9: awards night

A week had passed and I had been having a great summer. Most of my days were spent with Zach. Kio had been super busy with his new girlfriend and Josh was a business man now with a packed schedule.

Me and Zach were laying on the living room floor staring at the ceiling whilst I told him all about London.
"People are way too friendly here. Back home in London you would never just put your phone down on the ground to film a tiktok. Number one, it's more than embarrassing and number two, you'll probably get robbed."
"Sounds like a blast." Zach said laughing.
"You'll have to come with me sometime." I said as I rolled over to face him.
"Seriously?" He asked facing me.
"Yh of course. I'll give you the grand tour." I said smiling.
Tayler then walked through the door.
"Yo kids, get ready we've got an awards event in the evening. I'll send you the details." He said. But then my phone went off.
"Oh Tay you accidentally sent it to me." I said showing him my phone.
"That's because you're coming..." he said looking at me as if I had two heads.
"Wait what?" I said sitting up.
"We're leaving at eight!" He said running out of the room before I got the chance to speak.
"Oh my god what am I gonna wear? And my hair! And do I wear makeup?" I asked Zach looking panicked.
"You'll need lots of makeup you ugly bag." He said jokingly.
"Shut up Zach! I'm being serious."
"Well I'm sure you have something. And if you don't one of the girls probably has something you can borrow." He said getting up from the floor.
"Where are you off to?" I asked him.
"To get changed...duh!" He said leaving the house. Well I guess I had to figure this one out myself then.

The first thing I did was get down to the black hairdressers and get a wig installed. I would've got box braids but I'm on a strict time limit. I saw a girl walking out who had this beautiful wig on.

"That one please." I said mesmerised to the hairdresser.
"Of course darling. Have a seat." She said to me.

By the time I had finished getting my hair done it was about 6pm. I had two hours to shower, get dressed and do a full face of makeup. After a hell of a lot of elbow grease and tlc I was finally ready.

"Grace hurry up we're leaving!" I heard Nate shout from downstairs.
"I'm coming!" I said as I ran down the stairs. I was considering wearing heels but white Air Force 1s are the way forward I'm telling you now. 
As I ran down the stairs I saw just about everyone waiting. The twins, Chase, Kelianne, Nate, Markell, Tayler, Bryce, Noah, Blake, Josh, Kio, Zach Vinnie and his girlfriend Sammie all looked in my direction.
"Ahhhh that's my bitch!!" Markell shouted as I did a little spin once I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"It's a little short though no?" Tayler said folding his arms.
"I'm eighteen Tay!" I protested.
"Uh uh I don't like your tone missy. I wouldn't care if you were thirty two. Go fix it." He said seriously.
"But I-"
"I don't wanna hear it." He said dismissively.
"Come with me." Azra said grabbing my hand. We went up to her room and she gave me a pair of fishnet tights.
"Put these on on the way." She said.
"Oh you're a lifesaver!!" I said hugging her.
We ran down the stairs and I waved the tights at Tayler.
"I'll put them on in the car ok?" I said as a sort of question.
"Fine. I'm only letting you off because we're running late." He said as he walked out. Just as I walked past Vinnie and Sammie I could've almost sworn I saw Vinnie bite his lip. But I don't really care. I find it strange how my feelings for him have just disappeared. Maybe we can go back to being friends earlier than I thought.

I got in a car with Tayler, Nate, Zach and Josh. The entire time me and Josh were having a girly catch up in the back. Zach would join in from time to time but Tayler and Nate were going insane. Josh was telling me about all the girls he'd liked and I was telling him about all the guys I'd rejected because I was so hung up on Vinnie.
"Yikes. You're so down bad." He said laughing.
"Hey hey not anymore. I'm over it now. And him."
Zach gave me a look.
"What I'm serious! I saw Vinnie all dressed up in his suit and I felt...nothing. I felt more looking at you ma boi." I said tapping Zach's knee jokingly. It wasn't long before we had arrived at the awards show.

We all hopped out of Tayler's car and I was immediately blinded by all the cameras.
"Grace! Grace! Who are you wearing tonight? The fans wanna know!"
What the fuck was this guy on about?
"Um...I think it's from shein?" I said confused by the question. I heard Josh giggling from behind me.
"C'mon let's get going." He said to me as we all walked down the red carpet to the entrance.
"I think it's from shein." Josh said imitating me. All the guys were having a good laugh at my expense.
"Ha ha very funny(!)" I said as we went to find seats with everyone else as we were the last ones there. Somehow I ended up sat next to Vinnie in the theatre. Vinnie had his arm around his girlfriend and I'd have to admit, they did look cute together. I was happy for them. Truly. I mean Sammie is still a bit of a bitch but I'm sure deep down, like DEEP DOWN, she's an alright person.

I engaged in a conversation with Blake who was sat behind me in the theatre. He showed me pictures of him, his girlfriend and their dog.
"Stop it! You guys are a little family already!" I said as my heart melted. It was so great to see Blake happy. All I wanted was what he and his girlfriend had. They were always so happy. But I mean, 'good things come to those you wait' or whatever the stupid phrase is.

Suddenly the theatre went dark and we took it as our cue to shut up. I turned around in my seat to face the front and the awards began. It was a pretty long event but it was so fun to see all these celebrities winning prizes. There was then an award for best young celebrity businessman of the year. And Josh was one of the nominees. Next thing we knew Josh had won. Me and Vinnie were the only ones in the entire theatre who stood up to cheer and we were quickly pulled down.
"Well I guess that's where our invite came from." I whispered to Vinnie.
"Yh I thought it was weird that a bunch of tiktokers were at the same awards event as lizzo." He whispered back as we tried to hold in our laughter. I received a few evil glares from Sammie and I quickly snapped out of it. He's her boyfriend after all. It wasn't long before it ended and we all went to the after party.

We got to the after party and there were loads of famous faces including yung blud.

I had to go introduce myself to a fellow Brit.
"Hey there Yung Blud I'm-"
"Grace. Yh I know who you are darling. And it's Dom. You've come here with the tiktok group haven't ya?" He asked me looking smug.
"Yh..cringe or what." I joked.
"Nah I'm messing I love 'em all really." I said as we got the conversation started. It was obvious he had had a few drinks and so had I. We had been talking for what felt like hours and I somehow managed to trip over my own feet into Dom's arms.
"Sorry!" I said over the loud music feeling embarrassed.
"Don't be sorry love." He said into my ear as he pulled me closer to him by my waist. I put my arms around his shoulders and our lips connected. He moaned into my mouth before he reached down to my thighs signalling me to jump up onto him. I did just that and wrapped my legs around his torso as he rested his hands on my arse. My entire arse would've been on show if I didn't wear those fishnets. I guess Tayler made a good call. We kept going at it for a solid minute before he carried me over to a back room in this club. I was sat on top of his lap, moving my hips, as we continued to make out away from all the noise.

Then the door opened.
"Sorry. Wait...Grace?" I pulled away from Dom and saw Vinnie stood there.
"Oh Vin, hiya I guess?" I said looking at him. It was pretty awkward as I was sat on Dom and Vinnie was stood by the door.
"Um...I think we should get going before we all get a bit too drunk." I said getting off Dom's lap with awkward laughter.
"It was nice to meet you Dom." I said leaving.
"Pleasures all mine." He said looking me up and down from his slumped position on the seat.
"So...." Vinnie started.
"Let's never talk about that again." I said to him as I walked ahead.
"Agreed." He said laughing as he ran to catch up with me.

We gathered everyone together and got home safely as the 'designated driver' had stayed sober. What a night. A very weird one, but still a night to remember.
