Chapter 3: Hype House

I made my way to the skate park as I walked down the streets of Los Angeles again. It was crazy to be back but as a somewhat tiktok star. As I walked to the park I was stopped by a few fans asking for pictures which I happily took. I was still wearing what I arrived to LA in and it gathered a few looks from older men but it was nothing I couldn't handle.

Finally I arrived at the skate park and stood hesitantly at the back. I watched a group of boys skating on the ramps and pulling out loads of tricks. I mean they were pretty good.
"Hello stranger." I heard from dangerously close to my ear as it snapped me from my trance. I turned around to be met with the one and only Nick Austin.
"Hey!" I said as I gave him a hug.
"It's great to see you. I mean we didn't really hang out last summer but I'm sure it'll be different this time." I said as I remembered our one and only encounter at the skate park last summer.
"Yh, I can't wait to see more of you now you're 'public knowledge'" he said as he remembered how I wanted to keep my identity secret when I met him. Whilst I was with Vinnie.
"So are you here to skate or just gawp at some hot boys?" He asked folding his arms.
"You must be mad." I scoffed as I hoped on my board and showed him, and everyone at the skate park, what I was made of. I did a few basic ramp tricks before building up momentum and doing a backflip off the ramp.
"Whoa! I didn't realise you got that good!?" Nick said in awe and confusion.
"Well I spent some time practicing back in London." I said proudly.
"Can you teach me how to do that?" He asked me as a load of other boys at the skate park stared at me in disbelief.
"Maybe one day." I laughed as I got my breath back and went to sit on a bench nearby.
Nick came over and sat next to me.
"Why don't you come over to mine? The Hype House. I'm telling you know you'll love it!" He said getting excited.
"I mean...I shouldn't really go about with strangers now should I?" I said as I got up from the bench.
"I'll text Tayler and ask him for you." He said taking out his phone.
"Wait you know Tayler?" I said confused.
"Yh he used to live with us at the Hype House." He said nodding.
"Hype House? No offence of nothing, but isn't it a bit cringe?" I said trying to hold in my laughter each time he mentioned the house.
"Shush you're just a hater." He said jokingly rolling his eyes.
At that moment Nick's phone went off.
"Tayler says yes! And he'll meet us there. Cmon then." He said as he went to grab his board (and then my hand) and we walked to this 'Hype House'.

After a short eventful walk with Nick taking the piss out of my voice we finally arrived. The front door was already open.
"Wow, maximum security (!)" I said sarcastically as I pushed the door open.
"Shush." He said as he dragged me in.
"You guys! We have a guest!" He shouted as he was met with silence.
"Life of the party you lot are (!)" I said laughing.
"C'mon everyone's probably by the pool." Nick said as he pulled me through the house to the garden.
"Guys this is-"
"Grace!" This random guy finished.
"Yo you ruined my introduction Thomas." Nick sighed.
"Nice to meet you." This Thomas guy said as he shook my hand.
"And you." I said smiling back politely.
"So we've seen your tiktoks and you're quite popular. Will you be joining us. I mean you'll have to talk to me first and-"
"Whoa whoa whoa, chill out bruv. There's not a chance I'd join youse. I mean it seems cool but just not for me I guess." I said taking a few steps back from this strange man.
"Let the girl breathe. She's only just got here." This blonde girl said.
"Hi, I'm Addison." She smiled at me.
"I'm Grace." I said smiling back.
"I love your accent, it's so edgy."
"I mean there's not much I can do about it to be totally honest." I said politely laughing. There was an air of awkwardness as everyone sort of just stared.
"LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!" Nick shouted out of nowhere as he turned on the speakers and played an absolutely awful song. But everyone seemed to enjoy it and they resumed to talking and playing in the pool. I was the only person who seemed to hate the music playing.
"Oh my gosh turn this shit off!" I heard from behind me. The voice sounded familiar. A little too familiar.
I turned my head to be met with the one and only Vinnie Hacker. And it appeared that he was just as surprised as I was. Uh oh.
