"Truth or dare, Carly" Emily asked. After hours of playing games like KKM, Would You Rather, Never Have I Ever and now Truth or Dare, everyone is tired apart from Emily and Ruby. They're ready to play for hours more.
"Truth" a tired Carly said.
Emily laughed, for no apparent reason before saying "If you could date anyone in our year, who would you date and why?"
Carly replied with "Yeah all the time"
"She's not listening" Ruby giggled. Clearly the two girls were extremely sugar high.
Livia shushed them "Shut up, I'm trying to sleep"
Emily and Ruby, now both lying upside down on the sofa Ruby had chosen, like the "Linda, I Believed In You" option on the ways people sit on the sofa.

The girls laughed for no reason before being shushed by three other tired teenagers. This only made the girls laugh more, for no good reason.
"RIGHT I SWEAR!" Samantha slapped their legs before rolling back over onto her matteress "Either shut up and go to bed or leave. It's 2am and I'm tired" (just pretend we get more tired earlier when we're 17...)
Emily and Ruby tried to stop their laughing as they made their way into Ruby's kitchen. They sat at the table and tried to control themselves. Once they had finally calmed down, this simply made them burst out into laughing tears again.
When they'd finally settled down again, Emily lowered her voice "So, are you actually gonna tell Sam what happened with... You know?"
Ruby shook her head "No, I don't want to think about it, she doesn't want to think about it. Sam doesn't need to know and please don't tell her"
Emily nodded "I won't, I swear"
Ruby smiled "Thanks, you're a good friend"
Emily felt butterflies in her stomach. Ruby felt them too. They both stared at eachother for a moment before Ruby quickly leant it and kissed Emily. As soon as their lips touched, she moved back again.
"I- I'm so sorry" Ruby stood up "I shouldn't have-"
Emily shook her head "No, no it's... Uh... It's fine"
Ruby nodded before indicating back to the living room "So, do you wanna go back in?"
"Definitely" Ruby smiled as they silently walked back into the room filled with their sleeping friends.
They lay down in their chosen positions and after a moment Emily whispered "So..."
"Can we talk about that?"
"About what?" Emily asked, even though she knew what the response was "Are you sure you want to..?"
"Yeah, I- uh, I need to get some things off my chest" she sat up and patted the seat beside her for the girl to sit in.
Emily sat in the seat "Do you wanna make sure-"
"Yup I'm going to now" Ruby turned the TV on and went onto Disney+ and into her favourite movie.
"My beautiful, beautiful Makkari" the best character said as Emily sighed beside her.
"It'll work, trust me" Ruby laughed, looking at her friends "Looks good so far"
"Did you miss me?" The characters asked one another "Uhh, what's this?" Phastos asked as Ruby mouthed the words at a creepy/stalker level. "Yeah, is this new because I absolutely hate it"
"Ok that has to be enough?" Emily begged Ruby to stop playing the movie.
"One more" Ruby fast-forwarded to the beach scene. "It's so cute!!" She started ranting, knowing Sam and Carly would definitely snap and Livia would simply laugh if they were awake "She literally had super speed yet chooses to walk over to him! They're so in love! Ahh! No they're definitely asleep" she turned the TV off.
"Ok, so what do you want to talk about?" Emily had always been there for Ruby when she needed it. They'd always ranted to eachother about anytime Ruby's mum said something or how to get over a crush. They ranted about at least one thing each week, minimum.
"My feelings have been messed up recently, like, I haven't ever been attracted to someone as much as they have me which, I know, sounds terrible but Druig is so obsessed with me and I'm so obsessed with him and my feelings have just been all over the place recently. I'm sorry for... You know" she said.
"It's fine" Emily smiled "Honestly, I'm honoured you want to kiss me" they both laughed, quietly "But what about Niall?"
"Don't worry" Ruby shook her head "Tomorrow's Saturday, I'll break up with him then"
Emily nodded. Clearly something was bothering her.
"What's up?" Ruby asked.
"What? Oh, nothing"
Ruby sighed "Emily, I've known you for six years. I know when something's wrong and when you're lying. What's up?"
Emily took a deep breath "I guess I kinda feel lonely? Like you have a queue of guys, Sam has her girlfriend, Darcey has a boyfriend, Carly has... some sort of relationship and Livia has two boyfriends. I guess I kinda want to feel like part of the group?"
Ruby nodded "Well, who do you like?"
"That's the thing" Emily took a deep breath "You don't know her but her name's Stella"
