Ruby walked into school the Monday after the sleepover. She hadn't broken up with Niall just yet, she wasn't quite in the mood.

"Hi" Emily ran up to the girl "How're you doing?"

They'd talked about their kiss over the weekend and decided they were both just lonely or done with their relationship. It meant nothing and they decided not to tell any of the others.

"I'm furious" Ruby told the girl. Second stage: anger "I mean, he told me over text. Can it get much worse than that?"

"You're handling it better than I thought you would, at least" Emily tried to help the curly haired girl feel better.

Ruby raised one eyebrow at her "I'm sorry, I'm not sure if you saw the picture I sent to the group of me eating ice cream out of the tub while crying to Infinity on repeat"

Emily pressed the button to cross the road while replying with "Well, at least you're in today?"

"Only so I can take my mind off it for a while... And hopefully find the power and energy to break up with Niall"

As the girls crossed the road, they saw Darcey, Livia and Sam walking down to them. Darcey ran over to Ruby and wrapped her arms around the girl "I'm so sorry about Claire, I feel so bad for you"

Ruby nodded "Thanks" as she walked into class and saw Niall at the other side of the room. She's going to do it, and now.

Livia took the other three girls and herself to the back of the classroom as Ruby walked over to her boyfriend "Heyy" she awkwardly started.

Niall sensed the awkwardness in her voice "Hi?"

"Look, um, I'm sorry but... With everything going on right now..." Ruby started, she'd told him about Claire over text yesterday "I think we should, uh, break up... I'm sorry"

Niall looked shocked before nodding "I understand"

She smiled slightly "Thanks, bye Niall"

"Bye Ruby"

The girl walked over to her seat, nodding "I did it"

"Go you" Livia smiled.

Sam sighed "I feel terrible for you, your dad told you that his wife, that you don't exactly love, are having a child and, on top of that, over text!"

Ruby nodded "I miss when it was just us four... Or even just us three... I even miss when I had covid! It was us three for ten whole days, no Mia no Claire no marriage"

Darcey hugged the girl "I wish there was a way we could make you feel better..."

Sam sighed again, for a different reason this time "There is one way..."

Emily looked at the short girl, confused "And, what would that be..?"

Sam shook her head and mumbled something, impossible for anyone to make out.

"What?" Livia asked.

"We could..." Sam started. The second part was inaudible, again.

"Sam, you're gonna need to speak up" Ruby told her "We can't make out what you're saying"

Sam sighed "We could watch Eternals"

Ruby smiled "Really? Are you sure?"

"Nope"

"That's a great idea" Emily nodded "Yeah, I don't exactly love the movie but if it would make Ruby feel better, we should have a movie night"

Livia looked between the other four faces "Sure, I'm up for it"

"Yeah, I'm good with that" Darcey looked at Ruby.

"Hey babe" We heard from behind us. Joel!

Darcey ran over to him and gave him a hug. Ruby looked around the class and saw Nicholas, Adam and Luke glare at the affection. Which was weird, but she dropped it and looked back at the happy couple.

"Hey, um, I'm sorry about Claire" Joel said to Ruby. Darcey told him? She felt offended that she would tell him such personal information, but decided to wait to talk to her about it later.

Ruby smiled "Maybe it was a false pregnancy or the test was wrong or something" third stage: bargaining "or maybe, I somehow like the child that came from a literal demon's mother"

Emily slowly patted the girls back "It's ok... You're ok..."

Later that day

The gang walked home to watch Eternals for the curly haired girl and when they got in the door of Ruby's house (which was empty as Oscar was spending a lot of time at his girlfriend's house recently and her mum was at her boyfriends place more often than not (lol like she could get a bf (sorry that was rude))) and each of the six girls had allocated jobs. Linx couldn't come because it had, yet another, detention for accidentally abusing a first year. Well, abusing is a bit far...

Livia was to make enough nachos for everyone and Sam had to put on five packets of spicy chicken. Darcey and Ruby lifted every blanket from around the house and put it in the living room. Carly and Emily walked down to Harry's to lift drinks, sweets and tubs of ice cream.

When everyone was comfortable in the blankets and surrounded with enough food to last for all eternity, Ruby played the movie. (Lol get it? Eternals? Eternity? Hehe comedian Ruby)

When they got to the scene about Thena having Mahd Wy'ry for the first time in 1521, Ruby started crying. (Silently flexing my knowledge from watching a movie two times also I did not look this up...)

Darcey quickly paused the movie and turned to the girl "What's wrong? This isn't even a Druig and Makkari scene? I mean they're both in it but-"

Ruby sighed "I don't know"

"I think I know" Sam giggled "You're also pregnant. Mood swings"

"Bro what-"

"No, Sam. What else causes mood swings?" Livia asked the girl.

Sam realised "Oh- sorry-"

"No I'm not pregnant and I'm not on my period" Ruby mentally questioned herself on her choice in friends "I'm just... I dunno... Kinda depressed cause of the whole thing and haven't enjoyed this movie as much as I normally do... I want to enjoy it again" fourth stage: depression

Darcey hugged the girl for, yet another time today "My beautiful, beautiful Ruby"

Ruby laughed and sniffled before unpausing the movie "Quicker we unpause, quicker that scene comes"

(Terrible representation of bargaining and depression 😭 but thank you to the movie The Duff for the idea- and Livia for forcing me to watch the movie with her)
