The Ambush - Marry Red

In the morning when I had woken up. The rest of the crew. Was already getting dressed and ready for the day. I got up slowly and did the same. I got dressed and put my sword on my belt. Along with the rose on my hat.

   I climbed up to the deck to see my brother in the crows nest. The captain at the helm and Abigail at his side.

"Captain where are we headed?"

"We are on our way to trade with a merchant ship."

"How long do you think it'll be till we see em?"

"A hour tops in the meantime mop the deck. Abigail already fed our friend you just gotta clean the blood."

"Yes captain."

Why do I gotta get stuck cleaning? I grabbed the mop regardless and started cleaning the deck. Mopped the blood up like before. Then I heard Janté shout.

"Captain I see the ship!"

"Alright kiddo come down and go inside!"

Abigail had walked forward and pulled out a looking glass.

"See anything Abigail?"

"Nothing out of the ordinary Cap- Wait I see body's captain we have a problem!"

"Shit.. Roses! Get ready for battle! Janté get inside my quarters and lock the door!"

"Captain I don't see anything but corpses I think it's a trap."

"Alright battle positions!"

Everyone rushed to there positions and i did the same. As the ship got closer we waited for the oncoming fight. It felt like a eternity as the boat slowly crept closer. That's always the worst part about a battle. The wait the calm before the storm. We finally got beside the boat and tossed planks across.

We walked onto the boat the Captain, Abigail, Me And about ten other Rose's. We could see the merchants there blood littering the deck. Even a blood trail leading inside. The captain motioned his hands to let us know he's heading inside. The roses spread out on the deck checking the bodies.

"Watch out there on the sails!!!"

We all turned our heads too the sails and the bandits jumped down. It was it the storm is here. I drew my sword and slashed a bandit Trough the chest. Before he even landed on the deck. I look back at the Captain and the door to the ship slammed open. Sent the Captain flying back onto the deck.

The leader of the bandits stepped out of the door. He was a giant made Captain rose look 4 foot tall instead of 6 foot. I look back and try to help the rest of the roses. I ran over to help Abigail I pushed the bandit off the boat. Straight into the water and Leo's lunch.

"Thanks Marry"

"No worries go help your secret love. He's dealing with the jolly green giant."

Abigail's head spun immediately to the Captain. He was fighting with the bandit leader. Rose crouched under the bandit leader's sword. In only seconds slashed his legs wide open. Abigail sprinted over there killing two bandits who got in her way.

             She took her sword and thrust it trough the bandit leader's throat. Rose was on the ground tired from the battle. The other roses had mopped up the rest of the bandits. The cheering had started we won! The captain slowly got up and we all looked towards him.

"Good job ladies we won but let's not celebrate to much yet. Marry you and Gwen go look below deck and see what loot the bandits left. The rest of you take the...Fallen Roses to our ship we will give them a proper funeral when we set sail. Me and Abigail will check the captains quarters."

Me and Gwen both grunted out of annoyance. Then went below deck to see the supplies that was left. I sorted through crates and bags.

"Hey you should come look at this marry."

I walk over quickly slightly worried she'd stab me when I got close. But when I got to her I looked over and saw a little girl. She was stuck in a cage curled up hugging her knees. I open the cage and get down on my knee.

"Sweetheart me and my friend here are here to help. Do you speak English sweetheart. Can you understand at all?"

She nodded slowly.

"Okay then sweetheart we are going to slowly come over there okay?"

She stayed silent so I slowly started moving towards her. She barely reacted at first except inched away from me. When I moved forward I tried to reach my arms out. She screamed bloody murder I stepped back quickly. She hugged her knees even tighter.

"Gwen can you stay with her I'm going to go let the Captain know."

"For a bit I will."

I walked up to the deck and went to the Captain. He was talking to Abigail while helping the crew move loot.

"Captain there's a little girl in the hull she's ten or so. She won't talk to anybody and won't let anyone close."

"Hmm maybe Janté should go talk to her. Same age might be able to get through to her."

"You sure captain I don't like sending Janté down there with a unknown."

"I'll be close by to make sure he's safe."

"Alright then Captain but if he gets hurt i'l-"

"He won't get hurt you have my word."

"Fine I'll go let him know."

I turned and took a step onto the plank across. Onto Le Rosea Velenosa and quickly. Went into the Captain's quarter's.

"Hey bud we won but now we need your help. There's a girl in the hull. She won't talk or let anyone near her. I was hoping you could try to get through to her please?"

"Sure I will big sis she needs help I'll be a hero of sorts right?"

"Yea you will buddy yea you will."

"Well then what are we waiting for let's go."

He rushed out the room by the time I walked out the door. He was walking across the plank i followed. He went to the hull I stood with Captain Rose. As Janté approached he had a smile on his face it was nice.

"Hey my names Janté what's yours? It's okay if you don't feel like telling me yet. I just want you to know we are here to help."

"Bella... My name is Bella."
