The Fall - Captain Rose

I had gotten up from the step I was sitting on. I moseyed my way to my quarters. When I entered my room I hung up my hat then sat in my chair. I took the Star Crystal off my neck and admired its beauty and respected its power. Abby had walked in with a smile it was always nice seeing her.

"Hey Abby."

"Hey Rose how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine how's the crew?"

"A few of em are passing out now the rest are just turning in for the night."

"They earned the rest."

"You know because of the detour to the shipwreck. it's a two day travel to the next island with a town on it."

"The girls won't like it but I'll let them rest a extra night when we get there."

"They'll appreciate it."

"You should get back to the bunks as much as I love you Abby there's Rules."

"I know I know a gal can hope can't she?"

"But I'm not heartless I'll give ya a kiss before you go."

"Deal."

I smiled and pulled her close by her hips and put my hand on her chin. Then I gently kissed her then again on the forehead.

"Get to bed love you'll need your rest.
Goodnight sleep well."

"Goodnight sleep well Rose."

I smiled as she walked out and closed the door. I sat in my chair with a smile and then looked at my bed. I walked over and actually tried to sleep for once and not just sleep in that chair. I laid down and tried to get comfortable.

In the morning I woke up at dawn. I sat up on the bed actually feeling rested. I stood and put my sword on my hip. Then my jacket and lastly my hat. I walked out of my quarters as the crystal stopped glowing as the sun rose. I walked over to the anchor and lifted it using the crank. The noise started waking the crew I walked over to the wheel.

Then started to turn the ship to the blue ocean. Back on course to the next resupply point. I saw a few of the Roses get into there positions next was Abby who walked over to my side.

"Good morning Rose"

"Good morning beautiful."

I smile and then look back to ahead making sure the water is deep enough for the ship to go through.

"Hey do you see that on the horizon?"

"Yea I see it it doesn't look to bad the ship can handle it."

"Looks like we will hit the storm by midday."

"Just prepare the ship for the storm I'll try to speed the ship up to get through it faster."

"Yes captain Rose."

I signal to lower the sails to pick up speed. The crew drops them and the black cloth fell. Revealing the insignia a white rose on the black cloth. The wind hit the sails almost immediately. We started sailing at a good speed I looked to the ship. to see them closing the cannon doors getting ready for the incoming storm.

When we hit the storm the waves grew ten fold enough to knock the ship around.

"Everyone Brace!!!"

The waves hit the ship hard the crew had buckets. They threw as much water back into the sea as they could. But another wave would poor two times as much back into the boat. Lightning struck the sea like a executioners axe. If one of those hit the ship we'd have a problem on our hands. But I could see the other side of the storm. The light at the other side.

I started speaking to my crew but in the moment I couldn't even hear what I was saying. Next thing I knew we were in calm waters nearing sunset. I went around making sure everyone was alright. Once I had checked on everyone I went right back to sailing onwards. No time to rest we have places to be.

"Rose are you alright?!"

"Yea I'm alright how does the ship look?"

"She's been trough worse"

"That she has yet she's old so you should double check before it gets dark."

"Me and Marry will get right on it."

"Good. I'll sail us the right way"

She walked away with a bright smile as I looked forward. Towards the sea as night fell the star crystal started glowing once again. But this time it felt different like something unlocked almost.

"Rose the ship is just fine just a few scratches."

"Shhhh- do you hear that"

Everyone fell silent as we listened. We could hear what sounded like Rushing water.

"It sounds like a waterfall almost."

"In the middle of the sea?"

"I don't know captain I'll take the wheel for you you should go look."

"Alright."

I did exactly that I pulled out my scope and looked ahead. It was like nothing I've ever seen like the sea opened it's jaws to swallow us whole. There was no way we could avoid it. I rushed back to the wheel Then started shouting.

"EVERYONE HOLD ON TO SOMETHING AND BRACE YOURSELVES!"

I spun the wheel to the left as far as I possibly could. The ship started turning but it couldn't turn fast enough. The edge of the ship was just on the edge of the jaws of the ocean. It was too late the ship started tilting. We were falling over the edge I couldn't stop it I ran towards Abby. I held onto her and the ship this is the end of our journey isn't it.

"Abby i love you so much just in case we don't survive this. I just wanted you to know. I love you with all my heart soul and body no matter what always and forever."

"I love you too Rose ever since you saved me. You were the only one that mattered to me."

I kissed her before she could even finish. The ship had fallen for a while. Then hit land and we had crashed I was dazed from the crash. I stood and panicked as I looked around the fire and gold everywhere. Le Rosea Velenosa was in pieces before my very eyes.
