The rest of the trip to Alderaan was uneventful with nothing really happening until they fell out of hyperspace. "Hunter," Tech called from the pilot's seat, "we've got imperial cruisers inbound."
Hunter, now in his civilian clothing, headed to the cockpit and stood over Tech's shoulder looking out into space to where there were two imperial cruisers stationed. "Is there anyway around them?" Hunter asked, frowning.
"I'm sure I can-"
Tech was cut off by their coms going off. He looked over his shoulder at Hunter and after thinking for a moment Hunter sighed and nodded. Tech clicked the com and an imperial officer's voice came over. "Unidentified transport, send your ship's signature so we can approve you for landing." Tech and Echo looked up at Hunter grimacing. "Hello?" The officer on the other end asked, sounding annoyed. "Unidentified transport, do you read me."
"We read you," Hunter said, "we'll be sending our signature momentarily. We are currently having some, uh, malfunctions. Give us just a moment to repair them."
"Well until you send the signature we cannot let you progress anymore. If you get too much closer we'll be forced to shoot you down," The officer warned.
"We'll get it to you, I promise."
Echo leaned close to Hunter and lowered his voice. "Hunter, we can't send our signature, it's wanted by the imperials. The moment they realize who we are they will shoot us down without so much as batting an eye."
"Well," Hunter looked at Tech, "I thought Tech would be able to scramble our signature. That is why we landed on Pantora a while ago, so you could adjust the ship so that was possible."
Tech nodded. "Yes I can easily scramble the signature but it might take me a couple of minutes."
"We don't have a couple minutes," Echo hissed.
The Imperial Officer cleared his throat over the com. "Unidentified ship, we're waiting and your time is becoming scarce."
"Figure something out," Hunter whispered harshly before turning his attention back to the com. "Sorry Officer, my companion's just have some trouble identifying the problem. I assure you that we will send our signature as soon as we can."
"If you are having issues we can always use our tractor beam and identify your ship as soon as it is on our cruiser," The officer said and Hunter could almost hear his smirk.
"That won't be necessary," Hunter said. He then looked at Tech and lowered his voice. "We're out of time, Tech."
Tech clicked a few more buttons before exhaling. "That should do it. However, I cannot promise you it will work. You didn't exactly give me a lot of time."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Hunter shook his head, "Just send the signature."
Tech nodded before pressing a different button. Over the com they heard the imperial officer clear his throat and then after a few seconds he said, "It looks like the signature checks out. You may proceed to the planet below."
Hunter let out a sigh of relief before shutting off the com. "Alright, Tech, set us down in the capital, I'm going to go see if Omega is awake." Tech nodded and Hunter made his way over to Omega's room. When he pulled aside the curtain he saw her sitting holding a piece of paper and doodling with a pencil. She turned her head and smiled at Hunter.
Hunter crossed his arms but Omega interrupted him before he had a chance to speak. "I promise that I got some rest." Hunter was about to say something else but Omega continued. "I decided while I was waiting I would draw you something!"
