Hunter woke up the next morning to the sound of arguing.
"Now we have to go and buy more food," Tech shouted."I'm not the one that ate them. I swear, Tech, and I'm upset you would accuse me first," Wrecker grumbled.
"Guys," Omega whispered harshly, "Hunter is still sleeping."
Hunter groaned and straightened in the chair he had fallen asleep in. "Not anymore, I'm not," He said before pushing himself to his feet. Tech and Omega looked over at him and he walked over, crossing his arms. "What are you all arguing about?"
Tech's frown deepened. "Someone," he shot a look at Wrecker, "ate all of our food."
Hunter shook his head. "Yeah, we all have to eat, Tech. Are you sure it's not just that you haven't opened the box in a while and when you finally did it just so happened to be the same day we ran out of food?"
Tech scowled. "I am certain that there was a lot more food when I checked last."
"Listen," He walked over and took the box from Tech, "we're all a little on edge. Just let this one go, Tech, we can get more food while we're here."
"But that is wasting the money that we've been saving up from Cid," Tech protested.
Hunter sighed. "Wrecker and Echo can go and get some more food while we discuss the plan. Everything will be fine. Besides, we're getting paid after this job and Cid said it was a high paying job. We should be fine." Tech just shook his head before he sat down and started looking at his holopad.
Echo, who had been outside, walked back into the ship and, taking a look at Tech, walked over to Hunter. "I heard my name, is everything okay?"
Hunter nodded. "I need you and Wrecker to go into town and get some more food. Tech has been grumbling about the fact that we ran out. I can tell he's on edge about tonight. Ever since we were cadets whenever we had something stressful and things weren't completely neat and organized he would get really irritated about it. It's his way of venting out some of his anxieties."
"That's understandable," Echo said with a nod. He then lowered his voice, "Before I go, did you think about what we discussed last night?"
"I did, but talking to Omega is going to have to wait until after this mission. I can't worry about us getting distracted especially because of the stakes of this. If things go south then-"
"Hunter?" Omega started cutting Hunter off. Echo just shook his head before walking away, followed by Wrecker, to change into more inconspicuous clothing.
Hunter watched Echo go before turning his attention to Omega. "What is it?"
"I have an idea that's an easier way for us to get into the museum," She then paused waiting for a response. Hunter just gestured for her to continue and she nodded. "What if me and Echo went pretending to be people who wanted to look around the museum. He can pretend to be my," she smiled slightly, "nanny droid. Since both people under 12 and droids get in free we won't have to pay any money. We can then let you in and then get out of harm's way."
Hunter rested his hand on his chin, thinking. Before he could say anything, however, Tech cleared his throat. Omega and Hunter both turned their attention to him. "That sounds like a fairly good plan, Omega. That way we don't have to worry about a messy break in. Things will go a lot smoother and safer. While you're in there you'll have to disable the alarm. Will you be able to remember doing that? It is essential to getting Hunter in safely."
Omega nodded. "You can count on us to get the alarm off."
Hunter looked down at Omega suspiciously. "Is this partly because you want an excuse to look at what's inside the museum?"
"No..." Omega's voice trailed off and she looked at her shoes sheepishly.
Hunter sighed. "Normally I would say that it's not a good idea but you prove a good point. Getting in was our biggest issue and this resolves it. Just promise that you'll listen and obey Echo."
"Don't worry," Omega said, saluting, "I will."
"Alright, I'll bring it up with Echo when he gets back," Hunter said before turning to Tech. "Tech, what is the latest that you are able to get into the museum?"
Tech typed some things into his data pad and then after a few seconds he looked up. "The museum closes at 21:00 so I would say the latest they could go in without seeming suspicious is 19:30"
Hunter nodded. "Alright, so you and Echo will go in at 19:30 and then let me in at 20:45 after which you will leave. That will give you plenty of time to get somewhere that's safer. I'll then be able to find somewhere to hide. Plus the museum will be empty enough where you won't have to worry about people possibly seeing you."
"That was a very well thought out idea, Omega," Tech said, standing up, "Good job."
Omega beamed with pride before she turned and walked over to her room. Hunter smiled slightly before dropping it and looking over at Tech. "You don't think this will be putting Omega in too much danger?"
"Omega will be fine, I'm sure. Besides, she'll be with Echo."
Hunter sighed. "I know, I just can't help but worry. This entire mission is still extremely risky."
"This is true but so has every mission the republic had us do. Besides, we need the money from Cid so we will be able to buy our necessities. This job is important, we can't back out of it all because you are worried about Omega. Besides, you've always been able to protect us, you'll be able to protect Omega."
