Night came quicker than everyone had hoped and before Hunter knew it the time had come for Echo and Omega to head to the museum. "Do you remember all the rules, Omega?" Hunter asked, crouching in front of the young girl.
Omega nodded. "Yep! Don't wander out of Echo's sight, listen to Echo, keep an eye on my surroundings, point out any suspicious people to Echo, and when it's time to go go willingly." As she said each rule she counted off on her fingers and when she finished she looked up at Hunter.
"Very good, make sure you heed all of those as well."
"It's time for me and Omega to go," Echo said, almost sympathetically, "I'll contact you as soon as we're in and also when we're by the door."
Hunter nodded and was going to say something when Tech butted in. "Don't forget to disable the alarm. Otherwise it will sound as soon as you open the door."
Echo and Omega nodded before a smile crept on Omega's face. "Are we going to be able to look around?"
"Since there is a little over an hour between when you two go in and when you let me in there will be time for you to look around. However, while you're looking around please also look for security cameras and anything else that might be able to help me."
"I can do you one better," Echo said, holding up his mechanical arm, "I can disable the camera's in the room as well as on the way to the room. Or, I can freeze them so that it takes the people watching them longer to notice things are suspicious."
Hunter nodded before sighing. "Most of all remember to stay safe, both of you. Don't try and do anything stupid. We have a good plan here that will hopefully allow us to accomplish this near impossible task. I don't want anything to go wrong. But, if something does go wrong-"
Omega cut him off. "Contact you right away and abandon the mission. We know, Hunter. Now can we please go? We want to get there on time."
Hunter opened his mouth but then closed it. There was so much more that he wanted to say but he knew Omega was right, they needed to get going if they wanted to get to the museum on schedule. "Alright," he eventually said, "both of you get going. I'll see you in a couple hours. Remember, we're counting on the both of you."
Both Echo and Omega nodded before they turned and headed down the stairs of the marauder. As soon as they were on the ground Omega started skipping out of the landing area, Echo struggling to keep up with her. "Omega," he called, "slow down."
Omega stopped and spun around, a huge grin on her face. "That didn't sound very droid like, Echo. Also, I was thinking, do you think we could stop and get some mantel mix on our way back to the Marauder? Do you even think they have mantel mix here?"
"Unfortunately I don't think we can," Echo said, sighing and shaking his head. "After we leave we have to get back to the Havoc Marauder so we can make a smooth getaway. The Imperials are going to be on our tail after we get the statue and we're going to need to escape as quickly as possible."
"Don't we have to get the trinket to the client?" Omega asked, falling into step with Echo.
Echo nodded. "If they are pursued we will be jumping to hyperspace to lose the imperials but then, after about an hour, we'll jump back and land. Tech will scramble the ship's signature so they can't identify us when we come back and then Hunter will go and deliver the statue. After that we'll take the money back to Cid and be done with this mission."
Omega nodded before frowning. "There's a lot at stake this time, isn't there. That's why Hunter has been so tense. He's worried everything is going to fall apart."
"There are a lot of places in this entire plan where everything could just completely unravel. I'm sure as soon as we're done Hunter will be back to his old self."
