chapter 8

I couldn't say anything to him because he is in pain and I don't want him to worry and I just want him to feel better and get stronger that's what I want. I didn't want him to worry about his family or the reaping if it comes down to it I will volunteer for his sister if it comes down to that matter. I don't want him to be injured and still go to the reaping. "Jen I can I talk to outside please?" I shook my head yes and stepped outside of his room in the medical hallway. I don't think it's good news at all. "The doctor and I talked about him staying and recovering process and for what right now in his condition he can go to the reaping and he will be excused from it and it recovering time is long." I looked at her with a blank and shocked face.

I didn't know what to say to her at all and I wanted to sob but I had to be strong for him and his family.  "Arent you supposed to tell his family?" I was confused why she was telling me this. His family deserved to know first. I mean it's not fair to tell me and not his own family. "Honey I tried to reach his family but they weren't answering their house sell." I wonder why they didn't tell the nurse that they are staying at my house because they are scared of going back t the home and getting killed.

I smiled and went back to jay and stayed with him and I fell asleep on the floor. When I woke up I saw his dad sitting in the chair where I was and I was confused when I fell asleep. I stood up and looked jay to make sure he was still breathing. His dad put his hand on my shoulder to get my attention. "It's ok. You need to go home and rest." I looked at him and nodded and went home and see everyone. When I was walking back home I saw more capital people around my village and they knew I lived here. I guess more protection around me. When I walked in I saw new reporters waiting for me.

"What's going on?" I was confused about what this is and what they wanted from me. I never expected this at all. My family and Jay's family looked at me. " Hello Jen, we wanted to do a news article about you and your time in the capital." I had a blank face and I didn't know what to say to them at all.  Honestly, I wanted to scream to them but I had to be polite to them. "Um, I cant right because you guys came at the worst time maybe come after the reaping." I was hoping they understood. But I don't what they are going to say to me about what I just said to them. 

They looked at me like I crazy but I didn't want to answer or be in a article right now I'm just stressed and tired and my mind is somewhere else. "Thats fine Jen, we will come later and we will do a interview." I nodded and I walked them out and sighed very loudly when they left my house and I went up to my bedroom and fell asleep on my bed.
