we all get seated Millie and i sit on one side as Louis and Noah sit on the other side.
our waiter comes over to take our orders.
"hey y'all what could i get you today?" he asks in a strong southern accent, pulling out a his note pad that contains order slips, and a pen out of his apron.
Noah goes first as he orders pasta and a sprite.
next is Lou and he orders a cheeseburger and coke.
Mills orders macaroni and cheese with a pink lemonade
"what can u get for you ma'am?" he asks
"uh can I just get a water?" i say
"just a water will that be all?"
"yeah that's it for me."
"alright your drinks should be out shortly
the waiter walks away.
"all you want is water?" Lou asks.
"yea, uh i had a big lunch." i say with a chuckle at the end.
"but y/n i was with you at lunch all u ate was a pickle?" Mills questions me.
"oh uh did i say lunch? haha i meant breakfast." i say trying to convince them.
"are you sure y/n?" Noah asks me.
"yea I'm sure, why wouldn't I be?!" i say defensively.
"ok, ok just making sure." Noah says giving me a sympathetic type of glance.
we all finish up at the restaurant and get into Noah's car.
it's about 7 o'clock and we're like a couple miles away from the school, where the dance is being held. all i can think about is elli. i've known her practically my whole life. she should know I'd never say anything like that to her.
and on top of the elli situation, i'm doing a hardcore calorie counting diet. I'm trying to only eat , at most 100 calories a day. I've only been going this a couple of weeks so of course i feel a little sick right now.
"are you ok y/n?" Noah questions, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"ya, yeah of course, i'm fine." i say trying to sound ok. even though I'm not ok i don't wanna ruin everyone's night with my problem.
"are you sure? u don't look too good." he says sorta worried.
"ouch Noah." i say putting my hand to my heart acting hurt.
"you know what i mean" he says chuckling. "but seriously do you feel okay?" he ask us putting his hand on my knee.
"yes noah i promise I'm fine" i say reassuringly.
we arrive and noah tells Mills and l Louis to go in and we're gonna meet them in there.
When they leave it's just me and Noah standing outside his car. he grabs me by the waist and pulls me in close to his body. he puts his lips on mine and gives me a passionate kiss.
he pulls away.
"what was that for?" is ask with a giggly tone, smiling and blushing.
"nothing i just wanted to kiss the most beautiful girl here." he says looking into my eyes.
"cut the chit chat and get your asses in here! it's time to party!" Louis yells with a larger amount of enthusiasm.
"yea yea were coming." Noah says.
he grabs my hand and leads me into the gym.
2 hours later
it's been about 2 hours and Noah is nowhere to be seen. I'm sitting on the bleachers like a total loser, till i finally decide to get up and look for Noah. i look through the entire gym, occasionally asking people if they've seen him.
i make the executive decision to leave the gym and actually try to look for him. i check the cafeteria, then the auditorium, then the gazebo outside, and he was still no where to be seen. i was actually starting to get pissed off.
while on my phone messaging noah
i have to pee. so i go to the girls restroom next to the gym.
i walk i to see a sight i never wish I saw.
Noah kissing Caroline's jawline and neck.
"holy fuck Noah you just can't seem to get enough of her can you?" i say with slight tears forming in my eyes, while startling both of them, by breaking the silence.
i scoff and start to walk away.
"no y/n wait" noah says grabbing my wrist.
"wait for what Noah? do you want me to wait for you to come up with another fucking excuse? what is it this time Noah? that you had mistaken her for me? that she made u kiss her neck? because honestly noah I'm not in the fucking mood to hear another one of your stupid excuses ok?" i shout kinda loudly, out of anger, ripping my wrist from his strong grip, crying.
i walk out of the bathroom not hearing anything i walk back to the gazebo and sit there thinking. i ask myself what's wrong with my, and why he doesn't like me.
then i hear Millie's thick British accent shout my name.
"y/n I've been looking all over for you. you weren't in the gym so i thought you were with Noah, but he said he hadn't seen yo-" she cuts herself off when she sees my smudged makeup and semi-swollen face. "oh baby, what's wrong?"
"nothing, I'm just tired and don't feel too well. lifes a bitch." i say and start to break down. "and now my makeups ruined and i haven't even gotten crowned yet so i can't leave." i say while she hugs me tightly.
"are you sure that's what's wrong y/n." Millie asks.
"no. Noah was kissing caroline again. he just can't get enough of her. why doesn't he feel the same way about me?"
"because boys are stupid. they only see beauty on the outside and never think about what's on the inside. y/n you don't understand how beautiful you are ok? and if Noah doesn't see that than fuck him." Millie says to me while hugging me. "now come on it's almost time to get your crown."
i sniffle and wipe my tears. "but what about my makeup?" i ask
she pulls out a makeup bag. "i got u sister!" she says excitedly.
we laugh and run to the bathroom and fix my makeup.
we walk back into the gym just in time. when we get there i see Noah with his arms wrapped around Caroline's waist. i can feel the anger coarse through me, but i conceal it.
"and your 2021 homecoming queen and king are Noah schnapp and y/n l/n!!" the principal says with enthusiasm.
Millie lightly pushes me up to the stage.
when i go up to the stage Noah attempts to give me a hug which i politely decline.
the further homecoming queen puts the crown on my head for the second time hugging me.
the school photographer mages me and noah get closer to eachother. "come on guys act like you actually like each other." she says jokingly
"that's kinda hard to do" i whisper under my breath and Noah pulls me closer wrapping his hands around my waist. she snaps the pic then i pull away from him quickly.
