By now a year passed, Minerva and Loki were now 14. As much as it pained her to not say anything, she knew it would be better for this to go unnoticed. Hoping to see the boy again, she picked up her notebook and wrote, "meet me by the forest we hung out in years ago," and watched as the words disappeared.

Moments later, the words, "Alright," appeared before she closed the notebook and moved to her closet. From there, she put on the common Asgardian attire, and slipped her shoes on before going to the door.

"Going somewhere?" Eloise called, which Minerva stopped and visibly cringed. "Don't be out too long, you have training again tomorrow," she relaxed once she heard the words, making her leave the house seconds after.

As she rushed toward the tree, she climbed up and sat on a branch, though Loki was close behind. Watching him climb up onto a nearby branch, she smiled. "It's been a bit since we've last hung out," he pointed out.

"I know, training has been rough, but I'm here now and I wanted to see you again," she brushed off, causing him to smile. Putting a wing around him, she pulled him closer to her and waited a moment. Suddenly, she pecked a kiss on his cheek before moving away.

Looking away, she could feel him move closer before delivering a peck on her cheek. "You kissed me first." He reminded, which she giggled. "Did you not expect me to kiss you back?"

"Not really, no... I did not think you would like me back," she admitted truthfully, though Loki chuckled and rest his head on her shoulder. "I have wondered something about you for a while. Do you think you would let yourself be truly happy?"

"I am happy-," he said, though Minerva shook her head and glanced at him again.

"I mean happy as in away from Asgard. You forget that it is easy for me to read how someone feels towards other people, including themselves," she clarified, causing Loki to sit up and look at her. "If you wanted to go anywhere amongst the nine realms, why not go there?"

"Because mother would be upset," they answer, which the reaction Minerva gives proved to them something else was wrong. "Is everything okay at home? Last I met your mother, she was a nice woman."

"She still is a nice woman, but we are teenagers now." I want you to come with me when I leave... were the words she couldn't bring herself to say. Knowing she had but a year left before she would need to leave meant her time with Loki approached its limit. "You should have the ambition to go outside of Asgard! Explore, see what you do and do not like."

Hearing her laughter, Minerva turned to her with confusion. "If by the time we are both 16 and you still want to travel, I will try to convince my father to let us leave Asgard and explore the nine realms. Deal?" He held his hand out, which Minerva accepted, despite her contradicting future.

As the two continued washing the fish and frogs in the pond, Minerva opened her mouth to say something, but she closed it soon after. 'Telling Loki would only send him after you, which would put him in danger. When you leave, you cannot tell Loki when you depart from Asgard.' Her mother's words echoes in her mind, as it left a sour taste in her mouth.

Unconsciously wrapping her left wing around them, she sighed as she left Loki drift to sleep. "I love you, Loki," she said the words like it were her last, though that wouldn't be the case for now. "I just don't think I could fully say it to you," she whispered.

As Loki's 15th birthday came, and though he was a few months older than Minerva, she knew this would be the last birthday spent with him forever. As Minerva woke up, she moved through the house to see what went on. Hearing a knock on the door, she flew down until she reached the first floor.
