She brushed her teeth, and left her hair to air-dry. She walked out of the bathroom and walked downstairs quietly, trying not to wake anyone up. She scurried to the front door, and when her hand was about to touch the doorknob, she heard her mother's soft voice call for her. "Mary Jane," she called out. "Where are you going? Everyone is ready to sing happy birthday to you." Uneasily, Mary Jane turned around and saw 3 pairs of eyes staring back at her. Her hazel eyes came in contact with her mother's icy blue eyes. She walked towards her family. Her eyes darted from her mother's to her father's chocolate brown eyes, full of hatred, which was obviously directed towards her. She then directed her gaze to her brother's hazel eyes, full of nothing but anger and disgust as he looked at his younger sister.
