As she walked closer to the figure, the smell became stronger, almost unbearable. She picked up the glass bottles, some looking normal, while others had slight cracks on the side, and set them down inside of the recycling bin. Then, as quickly but as quietly as possible, descended up the staircase. As soon as her hand reached the doorknob to her room, she felt a strong, yet familiar grasp on her shoulder. This made her caramel colored skin turn ghostly white in mere seconds. "Hello Mary Jane," a husky voice spoke in her ear. "Finally home from school, I see. I've been waiting," the easily identifiable voice of her brother said to her, making her shake in fright. "Follow me," he said as he grabbed her arm roughly and harshly pushed her inside of his room. "If you dare to make a noise, I'll break your bones, and make it seem as if you were in an accident."
