Nikita finished her cup of tea and went out to make something to eat for Raziel and Abel just as she said she would. She was closely followed out of the room by her father and Raziel who went out the back door. Nikita watched them walk toward the shed. The shed had recently been painted white to match the cottage and the corrugated roof was extremely rusty.
"So why is it you bring young Abel here with yourself Raziel at this late hour?" Job asked. You don't visit me or write to me or call me in years then you show up this late what is happening?" Job desired to know.
"The assassins," said Raziel calmly. "I believe they have been summoned from hell to capture Abel or worse."
"The assassins" Job said alarmingly "So it has begun" Job looked wearily at Raziel. "And did you see them?" inquired Job.
"Yes it has begun and yes I saw one of them, with my own two eyes," said Raziel "they have taken human form."
"There being vigilant," said Job "there using stealth to blend in with the rest of society"
"Indeed," said Raziel
"What exactly happened in Letterkenny," Job asked, "tell me everything."
I was in town watching over Abel, as I do every night when Avarice came out of nowhere and attacked Abel" Job had a disconcerting look. "I was able to scare him away, but I fear that was just the first of them, I'm sure the others will follow. They are probably plotting their next move."
"This news is disturbing," Job said as he stroked his beard. "And they have chosen to strike here in Ireland first. hmm, of all places." Job I hate to say it but I think Someone must have tipped them off that Gods apprentice is in this part of the world."
"The Ordo Ob Chao will not hesitate in destroying any evolutionary who they deem a threat to their regime, I'm almost certain that they will come for you and your daughters, most likely to recruit you at first and if you decline, well, I wouldn't like to think about the repercussions."
Job knew exactly what Raziel was talking about. rumours were that the Ordo Ob Chao had set their sights on recruiting the best evolutionaries for the upcoming war. It was worrying to hear the Order had already set foot in the humble north-west of Ireland though. Job knew his family was under in danger. "Have any of the other six come forth?"
"Not yet, at least not to my knowledge. As I said I only saw one of them, I'm certain the other six will come forth from the shadowy abyss in due time." Raziel was telling Job all he knew.
"And what about God, is he not going to come forth."
"He sends his regards." replied Raziel.
"He can stuff his regards" Said Job angrily. His nostrils flared a clear indication of rage. "He must do something how can he just sit idly by!"
"I've not heard from God for a long time, the last time I saw him he did give me a message to give to you. God has given you an important task Job."
"Task indeed," said Job indignantly..
"God informed me that you are to train the evolutionaries that will make up his army." This was a revelation.
"Me!" Job said who seemed surprised "but who will I recruit?" Job asked.
"Raziel reached into his pocket and pulled out a list. "Here is a list of all the evolutionaries from around Ireland. Send out the messenger owls to deliver a message to those on the list, we will rendezvous with you in Kildare in precisely a month, hopefully, there will be a strong turnout. You will train these evolutionaries Job they must be ready for war."
"Why Kildare.?"
"There is a great house there which God owns it has vast fields so there will be ample room to train and perhaps most important it's secluded so you will have privacy."
"How will I know who to trust. Some of the evolutionaries on this list might be rogues"
"Well who better to trust first then your pure daughters" Raziel suggested
"I wish to not put them in danger," Job said adamantly.
"War is coming to Earth Job, God has foreseen it. Once world war 4 begins, so to will Armageddon. Lucifer's army, the army of the damned has been ready for Armageddon for decades now. The enemy is almost at full strength. We have stalled to make our first gambit whilst the enemy has been active."
Job took out his pipe and filled it up with more herb and lit it up with a match. He was mumbling curse words indirectly aimed at Raziel but alas he knew Raziel was right.
"Train others to wield their powers just as you trained your daughters and Abel. That is all I ask Job. That is all God asks."
"I'm will train the evolutionaries to wield their powers but I don't do it for God I do it for my daughters and Abel."
"Fair enough" replied Raziel.
"Very well," said Job. "Does Abel know?" Raziel knew what Job was reffering too.
"No not yet," Job looked at Raziel rather disappointedly "I will tell him tomorrow," Raziel said assuringly.
"He needs to know Raziel," Job insisted.
"Yes, I know, I will tell him tomorow, I give you my word," Raziel said firmly.
The two stood silently briefly and then it started to rain "Will we go inside?" Job suggested.
"Yes" replied Raziel "lets." The two old friends walked back toward the cottage, Job would be the one entrusted by God to train his army of evolutionaries.
