Abel had just awoken when Nikita walked into the room, and opened the curtains, a blinding light lit up the dim room, striking the disorientated eyes of Abel. "Bit bright is it not." He said squinting, holding his hand up against his forehead to shade his eyes, "what time is it?"
"midday or there about" Nikita replied in good spirits. "Father and Raziel have been up since the crack of dawn discussing something seemingly top secret, they have been wandering the gardens for the last hour." she then looked seductively at him. "You were never one for early starts were you!" She said .
"No indeed, me and the morning, don't mix at all to well." said Abel yawning readjusting himself to an upright position. He wiped away some of the sleep from his eyelids. "I'm a bit hungover"
Nikita crossed her arms over her bosom "Well I'm not surprised after drinking a couple of bottles, of that really cheap wine with my sisters last night. It's no good for you Abel, no wonder why you are so hungover!" Nikita had no sympathy for him and seemed unimpressed that Abel had spent most of the previous night drinking, "I was sent to wake you, and to tell you that you will be leaving shortly, I've packed you a few things for the road. There are some sandwiches, some fruit oh I even packed you some snacks and there is also a litre of water there that should keep you going. Father also had me up since the crack of dawn, I'm knackered."
"Boo hoo. poor you," Abel sarcastically said. Nikitas upper lip raised she was infuriated. But she subdued her bitterness and sat down at the foot of the bed. She picked up Abels tunic and gave it to him. There was a big bee buzzing about the room. Nikita dodged out of the way as it flew past her and continued to pest her.
"I hate bees!" she said.
"Little thing would do you no harm. Abel said as Nikita moved up beside him " Why he would be more scared of us if anything. And thanks for packing a few items for me Nik, greatly appreciate it." He kissed her on her on the rcheek and she blushed a rosy red and twitched her nose. Abel found this rather cute. He noticed Nikita would twitch her nose if she was happy or nervous even if she was lying. It was a tell of hers. Abel was an avid poker player. This was sort of a profession for him. He had a good knack at recognising a person emotions.
"Your quite welcome" Nikita said all proud of her efforts as she rubbed his back. Abel stood up to straighten himself out. He then went over to the window sill in his briefs and opened it up to let some air into the humid room. "Raziel told me last night that me and him were going to somewhere sort of special." Abel said as He sat down beside Nikita and put on his tunic. "Niki can i ask you a question"
"Sure," Nikita said smiling like the Cheshire cat expecting Abel to announce a proclamation of love.
"Ok, I want to know, did you know Raziel was an Angel?" Abel asked. this was not a proclamation of love and this question caught Nikita of guard.
"Raziel an Angel? Nikita echoed more or less what Abel had asked her.
"Yes, did you know?" Abel asked her staunchly again.
Nikita was never convincing when it came to blanketing the truth, her infamous twitchy nose that Abel was so fond of gave her away.
"You know what I mean. Did you know Raziel was an Angel?" Abel asked again. Recognizing she was playing dumb.
"OK, OK, yes I did," she said.
"And how long have you known this?" Abel asked raising a brow rather eager to know more.
"Years" replied Nikita "Our family were among if not the very first humans to evolve, hence why I am four hundred years old, in your years that is," she was sure to point that out.
