chapter twenty three

both of the boys walked through the halls, holding hands as they made their way to their classroom.

but as they walked, many whispers could be heard, some surprised that they have been together for weeks, some jealous that they were probably never gonna have a chance with sunghoon. the students thought the two boys were perfect for each other since they were both very attractive.

jake couldn't help but notice a familiar stare, he searched for the sight and met eyes with someone.

a smirk crept up onto his face and stopped on his tracks. "hoonie, go on ahead, i'll be there soon."

"hm? where are you going?" sunghoon asked as jake let go of the youngers hand, and the feeling of loneliness hit him.

"i gotta use the bathroom real quick, don't worry hun i'll be right back."

and with that sunghoon began walking to class while jake walked towards the boy who had his back leaned on the lockers, the boy had his hands in his pocket and his face was more relaxed than frightened by the look of jakes threatening stare.

"what are you looking at" jake spat, standing next to the figure who let out a chuckle.

"don't act like you did nothing wrong." heeseung spoke, rolling his eyes as jake just scoffed. "you made sunghoon block us, why did you do that."

"i was only doing the right thing." jake said, a slight grin plastered on his face as heeseung shook his head.

"right thing? you're being so fucking stupid right now, he only had us and now you're taking it away from him." heeseung said, furrowing his brows as the feeling of annoyance rushed in.

"he had such lonely eyes, he wanted to be free and you guys couldn't give him that, you guys didn't notice anything." jake pushed his hair back and glanced at the boy who now had a glare on his face.

"i'm just saving him." jake said as he was just about to walk away until heeseung grabbed him.

"no.. you know nothing about him, i don't know what your plan is but-"

"there's no plan, anymore i guess." the younger said, pushing is hand out of heeseungs grip.

"i got to go, sunghoon is waiting for me." he quickly turned his back and walked away, on his way to class.

lunch came fast, and the two boys were currently eating lunch together.

"my baby is so adorable!" jake smiled, holding onto sunghoons hand as the younger let out a giggle.

"you're even more adorable!" sunghoon said, pecking the other boys cheek and they both giggled.

despite jake making sunghoon let go of his friends, they still had a strong relationship, they were closer than ever, sunghoon even opened up about everything to jake, about how he felt so lonely even when he had his friends by his side, how he missed the feeling of being genuinely loved by someone, he even spoke about his past with his past relationships he actually loved, his relation with his parents, he basically spilled everything.

jake promised to stay by his side, and sunghoon believed that, he believed every single thing jake has told him, he trusted jake because of how the older understood him, it was like he's finally found the right one.

even though they had a strong relationship, was it healthy? no. there's always got to be the bad and good memories in a relationship right? that's what sunghoon deeply believed, even if jake hurts him, lies to him, controls him, he would just think of it as a sign of strong love, that's exactly what jake made sunghoon believe.

"jungwon! sunoo!" jake greeted the two boys who sat on the table, seated besides each other as the two love birds in the front.

"hey jake." jungwon greeted, placing his tray on the table as sunoo followed along. "hey jake!" sunoo waves his hand, completely ignoring the boy who sat in front of him.

"sweetheart, can you do me a favour and get my water bottle from my locker?" jake asked, sunghoon smiled and nodded his head.

"but don't speak to heeseung or anyone else." even though sunghoon was hesitant, he didn't want to make jake mad so he had to agree.

sunghoon then quickly left and now only jake and his two friends were there.

jake and sunoo glanced at each other, signalling sunoo something and he nodded his head.

"wonie, remember that favour i wanted to ask you?" sunoo began talking and the youngest nodded his head.

"yes of course, you haven't told me yet, are you gonna tell me now?" jungwon curiously stared at sunoo, causing the boy to nod his head.

"but we need your trust, we need to know if you're actually willing to be a true friend." jake smiled, and jungwon raised a brow, his face was puzzled. of course he wanted to let them know that he was a true friend to them.

"you know, you can't back out on this." sunoo said, grabbing the boy by the hand and smiled, causing the boys face to go flushed.

so innocent, so pure.

"i-i won't, i promise."

"promise? if you break it..." sunoo chuckled, thinking about the past incident. "you don't want to imagine what could happen." jake continued the sentence.

"don't worry wonnie, i'll give you treat, if only you're a good boy." sunoo patted the boys head, fully aware of the little crush jungwon had for him, it was too obvious.

jake let out a chuckle, at his friends actions. jungwon did look sincere about his words, but was he just blinded by love too? maybe he's just like the others, but we need his cute and innocent picture.
