Beatrice and Caspian climbed the sweeping staircase of the hotel from the bar up to Beatrice's room. They'd spent a happy evening in the Champagne bar, having drinks on the house once the management had realised their role in the negotiations earlier in the day.
Caspian halted at a black and white photograph on the wall at the turn of the stair. A resplendent Palomino horse wearing a smart coat, flanked by a man wearing a white cowboy hat and suit studded with rhinestones.
'Beatrice, look!' he exclaimed. The horse reminds me of Jenny, in Frankfurt!'
Beatrice laughed. 'Oh yes, I forgot to give you the Trigger warning.'
Caspian read out the caption beneath the photo, 'ROY ROGERS AND TRIGGER, 1954.' He groaned. 'Ha ha, very funny.'
Beatrice grabbed him by the hand and pulled his body against hers, her lips almost touching his. 'I'll ride you Cowboy, come on...'
'Yee ha,' responded Caspian.
