Caspian unpacked the content of the bag into the locker he'd been allocated. Around him, he heard the familiar sound of BundeskanzlerInnenkoerperschutzspezialkommando (BKKSKK) colleagues arranging their equipment while discussing the current job.
'Angela's last big trip,' said one.
'Ja,' replied another. 'Big reception tonight.'
'Canapés?' the first laughed in reply.
Caspian shook his head. Once this work had been so important to him, protecting his nation's leader. After he had returned from Venice, he had taken the commission for the elite bodyguard, transferring from Frankfurt to Berlin. But after his initial optimism, he began to question what he had seen of the ruling elite and its international travel and canapé lifestyle. Conventional politics would not deliver the change needed to prevent environmental Katastrophe! He stroked his smooth shaven jaw, and remembered his purpose for coming to Glasgow.
