"You're just in time" your mom spoke as you walked into the house out of breath

"Sorry.. we were a.. little behind.." you then said in between breaths

"A little behind? What would cause that?" She asked

"We were taking our time up there just talking.. I completely forgot about having to come back before dark.. until after the goats were put back.." you answered a bit more finally stabilizing your breathing a bit more

"Okay.. so then how was the trip?" She asked

"It wasn't bad at all, it was quite nice, especially the scenery" you admitted truthfully

"Not many people go up there, quite a distance from the Village, i'm sure it is" she said as she took a sip of water from her cup

"Also, dinner is ready for you on the table" she continued

"That's alright mom, I think I'm just going to hit the bed"

"You sure? You haven't eaten anything all day" she said lowering the cup into her lap

"I'm sure, that walk really got me tired"

"Alright, I guess we can just save it for whenever you're hungry" she then said as she placed the cup down and went over to pick up the plate

"Thanks mom, goodnight, love you" and with that you ran off into your room as you immediately jumped into bed and hugged your pillow out of excitement

Honestly, it's a dream come true, who wouldn't be excited if their own crush just confessed to them?

You just laid there squealing into your pillow in excitement when you froze of realization

Wait, are we dating? He never asked me that question, all he did was confess..

You turned onto your side in thought about the subject when there was a tap at the window

You sat up and look towards the window when you seen Jack

And with that, you jumped up motioning for him to stay there as you left your room

"Where are you going? Thought you're heading to sleep?" Your mom asked as she seen you come into the room

"I was but I guess I may need a little walk to help me a little more" you said lying a little

"Alright.. your father should be home soon, be back within an hour tops"

"Will do" you said as you opened the door and closed it behind you as you walked over to the side of the cottage where your room is

"Why are you here?" You asked stopping in front of him

"I can't wait until tomorrow, you're just going to torture me" he then said

"Well, you'll just have to, I have to be back inside within an hour and it's starting to get cold around this time, Autumn is coming soon, you know"

"Please, just for a couple minutes, it's all I need" he said as he held onto your shoulders

"Okay" you sighed as you rubbed your arms

"You left before I was able to ask if-"

"And I already told you about how I felt right back, do I really need to answer it?" You asked cutting him off as he just looked at you silently

"What?" He finally asked confused now making you the same way

"Wait, now I'm confused, are we talking about what happened earlier or?-" you stopped due to him starting to laugh

"Wait, no, I'm sorry, I was just kidding, of course that's what I meant" he then said calming down as you just shot him a glare

"You can never be serious, you dumb boy" you scolded flicking his nose as he took a step back

"Ow, rude" he said as he rubbed his nose

"But if you do need an answer to that question, then yes" you said going back onto the subject when he just looked at you silently for a moment before pulling you in for a hug

"That's all I needed to know" he whispered softly before breaking it leaving you with a little blush

"So you're just gonna leave me now?" You asked when he stepped back

"I mean, you do have an hour before you do have to go inside, wanna go out for awhile?" He asked as he offered his hand

"I would love to" you said accepting it as he just gave you a smile before walking you off towards the center of the Village

Everything went well since then, you and Jack started secretly dating, you got even closer to his mom and sister while he got closer to yours, just perfect

Oh and did I mention that you secretly run off with him everyday to walk with him up the mountains with the goats while you are supposed to be "out" picking fruits and vegetables?

Sometimes it takes risks in order to be happy, and at that point, if that's what it takes to be happy, then you didn't care, even if it meant lying to your friends and family

Days have turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Summer to Autumn, Autumn to Winter, everything was just perfect in your eyes

Or so you thought..
