Kimora POV

I sit up and turn my eyes to the window, it's so beautiful outside. The sun is rising and the sky is different shades of blue, orange, and peach. I want to stay and watch but I have a busy day ahead. Today is the first day of classes, I can't afford to entertain the thought of five more minutes of sleep. Mani, Tiana, and I have to be at l'université Bonart by 9 am. I pick up my phone and check the time.

I have an hour and a half to get ready.. and there's only one bathroom.

I quickly get up and gather my stuff so that I can shower. I put my ear against the door, trying to hear if Kheumani and Tiana are up yet. I really want hot water. Silence. My favorite sound, I smile and open the door.

I'm shocked by what I see. Mani and Tiana are up and eating breakfast. What the hell?! They grin seeing my face.

"Why are y'all up so early? Why did no one wake me up?!" I say exasperated.

Kheumani laughs.

"We didn't want to disturb your beauty sleep," Kheumani lies.

"Bullshit!" I yell, "You guys just wanted to steal all the hot water."

"You're damn right!" Tiana laughs.

I scowl and walk to the bathroom. I shut the door trying to drown out their obnoxious laughter.

Jacques POV

I throw my head back. Only six more hours. I've been on set all day and miss my best friends. We've been apart for a week. Henri is in Spain shooting a Dolce & Gabbana ad and Alejandro is in Italy for a Versace show. I've been by myself left to my own devices and can't get a particular beauty out of my mind.

Her red locs.. plump lips.. dark brown skin. She's so perfect to me. I wanna see her again but I want it to be just the two of us. I want to get to know her better. I pick up my phone and stare at her contact, contemplating whether or not to call.

"Oooh looks like you have a crush," I hear behind me. I quickly lock my phone and turn my head to see Henri. I smile and hug him.

"Bro, when'd you get back?," I ask.

He looks at his watch and says "About three hours ago."

"Wanna get lunch? I have to be on set til late tonight." I groan.

He nods. "I'm craving Thai food right now."

My mouth waters as I think of Tom kha kai (chicken in coconut soup).

Kimora POV

It's been a long day..

I had two psychology classes today and calculus I. It was mostly going over the syllabus and introductions. I want to get in my PJs and watch The Punisher on Netflix, but Ti and Mani get back in an hour. Once they get back, we have to head over to Merin, even though we start working Saturday. We have to meet with our site supervisor, Laurel, to learn more about our tasks and Merin.

I decide that I should make lunch for the three of us and head over to the kitchen. I check our fridge and see that it's completely empty. Ugh. We spent all weekend exploring the city and prepping for school. Groceries completely slipped our minds. I put my boots back on and head out the door.

Hey, I'm heading to the grocery store. Send me a list of things you want. I text to our group chat.

Almost immediately, Kheumani and Tiana send their lists. The grocery store isn't far from our apartment, so hopefully, I'll have enough time to get our things and maybe some takeout.

I grab a grocery basket and head to the fruit section. I'm done in thirty minutes and stop by the apartment to stock the fridge. I take out my phone and look for restaurants nearby. I find a Thai restaurant not too far from the grocery store I was at and insert the address into Maps.

As I push open the door, a soft jingle sounds and the aroma of the foods hits my nostrils. I walk up to the counter and order three lunch specials. As I'm waiting by the counter, I see a mop of familiar brown curls. It's Henri and Jacques!  I quickly turn and hope they didn't see me, but I didn't miss the playful glint in Henri's eyes. I try to play it cool when Jacques walks over, but luck wasn't on my side.

"Are you trying to play invisible?" He says, slightly amused.

"N-no," I say, "I just didn't want to seem creepy staring y'know?"

"Mmm," he hums.

"So how have you been?" I ask, trying to avoid looking at him directly in the eyes.

He says nothing, so I look up to see him staring at me.

I wipe my face and teasingly ask, "Is there something on my face or do you have a staring problem?"

His smirk widens and he shrugs. "Maybe I have a staring problem."

I laugh. "Didn't know you like Thai food."

"There's a lot of things you don't know about me, ma chérie."

"Kimora!" The man who took my order yells.

I thank him and take my food.

I turn back to Jacques who's still staring at me. I bite my lip and decide to be bold.

"I'm willing to learn if you'll let me," I say.

His eyes widen and his smile grows larger.

"Are you asking me on a date, chérie?"

"Maybe.. maybe not. Depends on if you want to."

"This Saturday?" He asks.

"This Saturday," I confirm. I say bye and head back home. I'm desperately trying to wipe this stupid smile off my face before I tell Ti and Mani about what just went down.
