Y/N'S POV:

"Sit down," Camilo says pushing me down on the bed.

"It's been a day! She said I can move around now!" I argue.

"Y/n, you're going to hurt yourself. I know that you are going to march yourself right over to Casita and try to help! You're just going to injure yourself more," Camilo pleads. I roll my eyes.

"Camilo, please. I can't stay here any longer. It's boring and I'm alone. I'm going to go crazy if I don't leave," I grab onto his arm. I try my best to give him my 'doe-puppy dog eyes'. He looks at me for a second and then sighs.

"Alright, alright. Stop giving me that... look. Just don't try to lift anything," He tells me.

"I promise I won't! Come on now!" I grab his arm and rush out the door. I feel a slight pain in my side, but I ignore it as I run towards Casita.

"Y/n! Not so fast! You're stressing me out. I have grey hairs because of you!" He yells from behind me. I laugh as I make it in front of our former house. It is mostly cleaned up, just a few of the bigger pieces are yet to be moved. I see a few people breaking those pieces up with pickaxes and hammers. I stand in front and place my hands on my hips.

"Y/n!" Pepa runs up to me and kisses my cheek, "It's so good to see that you're doing better!". I smile.

"Hey, Tía! I'm doing great and now I'm here to help," I smile proudly.

"Y/n. What did Ms. Ada say?" Pepa asks me sternly. I groan and I hear Camilo laugh at me.

"I can help though! It barely even hurts anymore. I'll be fine to pick up stuff," I say trying to convince her. Pepa shakes her head.

"No Mija. We will not have you hurt yourself," Pepa says. I huff like a child.

"I think I might have a job for you," Tío Félix says from behind Pepa. My eyes light up.

"Yes, yes! What is it!" I ask excitedly. Pepa pats her husband's back then walks back to help a villager.

"Abuela is going to go look for some plants to buy. She'd love it if you went with her," Félix suggests. My face dies at the mention of Abuela.

"Oh," I say.

"Look Y/n. She's trying to make amends, I know you don't like her but she is trying her best. Just give her a chance. Plus Mirabel is going with you guys," Tío Félix says. I debate with myself for a second then sigh. I guess I should give her a chance, plus Mirabel is going, so it can't be that bad.

"Ugh. Errr. Ahhh. Fine, I'll go," I say. Félix laughs and pats me on the back.

"Thank you Y/n. Now, Camilo, you need to go help your mother. She's been struggling with that wall for an hour now," Félix begins to explain to his son. I hug Camilo and then walk towards Mirabel and Abuela who are talking in front of a tree.

"Hi Abuela, Hi Mirabel. Félix told me I should tag along with you since I can't do any hard labor," I say with an awkward smile. Abuela greets me with a warm hug. This is awkward. I look to Mirabel for help. She also gives me an awkward smile.

"I'm so happy you are getting better. I was thinking that we would need extra eyes," Abuela releases me and then walks into town. Mirabel and I follow after her.

"This is... different," I whisper to Mirabel. She nods.

"Yea. I mean Abuela and I made up by the river. I mean she apologized and we hugged, butterflies flew and flowers grew, but something inside me believes that it's only temporary. That it's going to go back to the way it was," Mirabel whispers back. I look at Abuela. She's a considerable distance away from us, greeting townspeople who are on break.
