The room was dimly lit, four boys sitting around a table, on it a map, a box of pizza, cans of coke and most important the DnD monster catalog " A shadow grows on the wall behindy ou... swallowing you in darkness... it is almost here..." says the boy responsible for the campaign. The rest of the boys lean forward " What is it?" asks the most timid of the boys " The Demogorgon?" asks another boy " We’re screwed if it’s the Demogorgon." replies the first one " It’s not the Demogorgon!" says the last one and the campaign master waits for them to settle down before slamming a figurine on the map " An army of Troglodytes charge into the chamber! Their tails drum the floor. Boom! Boom! Boom!" he says and the rest of the boys sight in relief. But it was all short lived as you and Mike share a look " Wait a minute....do you guys hear that?" you asked sitting up from the comfortable sofa " Boom! Boom! BOOM! That sound... it didn’t come from the Troglodytes. No. It came from something behind them..." says Mike as you pat your fists on the table mimicking large footsteps " THE DEMOGORGON!" yells Mike slamming the figuring on the table and the boys curse " Will, your action." says Mike and the timid boy hesitates " I- I don't know." he says " FIREBALL HIM!" says one of the boys " I’d have to roll thirteen or higher." says Will " Too risky. Cast a protection spell!" argues the other " Don't be a pussy fireball him!" repeats the other boy shrinking under your gaze of disapproval " The Demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering. It steps toward you. BOOM!" says Mike and you slam your fist on the table.
The boys bicker back and forth " FIREBALL!" yells Will rolling the dice, it rolls from the table to the ground and the boys get up to find it, you twist your hand to look at the time on your watch, the seashell bracelet on it hitting the metal of it " Guys time to pack it up." you say and in que the door opens, Miss Wheeler coming in " Mom, we’re in the middle of a campaign!" whines Mike as you help collect the trash " You mean the end." says the woman and they both turn to look at you " You heard you mom. Times over." you say tapping your watch and the blond woman smiles exiting her son chasing after her to change her mind. You look around seeing if you had forgotten to take anything " You got all your stuff?" you ask and the boys nod " Does the seven count?" asks Will " It was a seven?" asks Lucas and the boy nods, their small heads turn to you and you smile " If Mike didn't see it it doesn't count." you say and the boys smile leaving. You close the door behind you and shake your head seeing Dustin peer into Nancy's room, as Nancy closes the door on him you smack the back of his hat " Peeping is considered rather creepy ya know." you say as the boy fixes his hat mumbling something under his breath.
Miss Wheeler holds you back before you can leave " Here honey for your trouble." she says giving you a few bills " Thank you Miss Wheeler, if you need any help with Holly just call me." you say and the woman nods smiling at you. You get on your bike putting on your helmet " Goodnight guys. Be careful on your way home." you say " Will do Chief." says Dustin and you smile at the boys as your engine starts " SEE YOU TOMORROW CHIEF!" they yell waving goodbye to you.
Entering the store you grab a few things that you remembered you needed at home " Oh and give me a pack of ..... Ms. Byers." you say and the woman does so " So the campaign ended." she says and you nod " Yep all of them are on their way home as we speak." you said taking the bag " Thank you so much ( Y/n) for taking care of the kids, giving art classes to Will, hanging out with Jonathan." says the woman and you shake your head " Please don't thank me. It's my pleasure to spend time with the kids and Jonathan is my friend." you say and the woman slips something in the bag, your eyes widen and you shake your head ready to take it out " It's from me, treating you to something sweet like when you were a little girl. Say hi to Hopper for me." she said and you sight " Will do!" you say exiting the store and getting on your bike.
Driving threw Hawkins at night always made you relax, it had the almost same infect on you as when you walked at the sunny beach of California with your mother. You shake your head pushing the memories at the back of your head, you stop at the red light even though there was noone around, a familiar blond passes you from across the street black heeled boots clicking against the pavement, you're ready to call her but stop knowing it won't lead to anything. Letting out a huff you step on the gas the engine roaring, the sound echoing in the empty streets, the buildings quickly got replaced by trees and you slowed down eventually coming to a stop, you sat on your bike pulling out a cigarette and lighting it " This is it." you mumbled staring up at the sky " Nice and quie-" hearing rustling you stop head turning to the woods. Sitting in silence you waited for something to pop at you, the rustling grew closer and closer as chills run down your back and your hand went to the key ready to get out of there, a small squirrel came out of the bush and you let out the breath you were holding " Fucking hell." you spat throwing the cigarette and stopping on it and starting the engine " You scared the shit outta me." you accused the animal before speeding away.
Reaching your home you sight finding the man passed out on the couch snoring loudly, you go to the kitchen and empty the bag using it to gather the empty beer bottles and empty the ash tray. Leaving the bag out you go back inside and take the man's shoes off, he jolts a bit calming down seeing that it was you " Oh kid... you're back." he grumbles opening and closing his mouth as he tried to get rid of the bitter taste in his mouth " Your mother sent something." he slurs trying to get up and pointing at the coffee table, you push him back on the couch " I'll see it later. You should sleep." you say and the man nods closing his eyes. The rest of the house wasn't much of a mess considering that your father was most of the time at the police station and you were....out, doing your thing. Taking a look at the coffee table you find to envelopes a yellow and a white one, taking them both to your room you open the yellow one taking some bills out and placing them inside a box hidden underneath your bed, as for the white one...you open the bottom drawer of your nightstand and throw it in ' It's starting to get full.' you think staring at the other unopened envelopes before slamming the drawer shut. You dropped on your bed kicking your shoes off and yawned ' Crap I forgot to check if they got home.' you though as you changed to your PJs ' Well they're probably fine.' you though eyes closing ' After all, nothing happens here in Hawkins.' you though eyes closing and sleep consuming you.
