The Missing Lifeguard

You opened your eyes only to jump back " What. the. fuck.dad?" you grumbled at the man who looked a little out of it " You're here." he said smiling " Yea...." you said trying to wake up " On your own." he said sounding even happier " Yea....Are you drunk?" you asked him and Hopper shook his head kissing you on the cheeks " No,no. I'll just leave you to it." he said and went back to the leaving room " What the hell is wrong with everyone today?" you groaned deciding to get up.  Not feeling like sleeping again and not wanting to go out to watch TV with your drunk dad you decided to draw, flipping threw the massive pile of paper to find a clear page a photo dropped, it was of you and the two boys by your side on Eddies bed, you and Billy were smiling at the camera while Eddie grimaced duo to the flash hitting him in the eyes, you smiled.

" BILLY IS CHEATING ON YOU!" yelled Max running into your room " What?" you asked taken aback " He's cheating on you. El saw him." she said as the other girl walked in " Not exactly." said El but Max was not having it " She saw him with another woman." she said and you raised your hands up to stop them as El was trying to explain what she saw " You, stop." you said pointing at Max " You, explain." you told El.

As the telepath explained what she saw you were pacing back and forth, lighting a cigarette in the process " Who was he with? Was it Miss Wheeler?" you asked blowing the smoke out " No I didn't see/ MISS WHEELER?!" asked Max and you rubbed your head " You know what I had it." you said irritated grabbing your jacket and Betty's keys and heading out. The two girls followed after you, as you exited you made sure to be extra careful to not wake up Hopper who was sleeping on the sofa while a random show was playing.

Max passed you and sat on the motorcycle, El doing the same " Nope. Both of you down, I only have one helmet." you said and the red haired girl rolled her eyes " I think we've been threw far more dangerous situations than a ride." she said and you looked at El " We make our own rules." she mumbled and your gaze snapped to Max who shrugged " Ok, fine. If one of you falls off I won't...care." you said getting on " You better hold on tight." you said turning the key, the engine roaring.

" Why are you stopping so far away?" asked Max as you parked " If he's home he will hear the bike." you mumbled walking to the house " I'm all up for the drama but wouldn't it be better to just go to the mall and have fun so you can forget about him?" asked the red haired " What if it's something bad? They were screams." said El and Max sighed " Look when Billy is alone with a girl, they make a lot of weird noises." she explained " They scream?" questioned the telepath " Yea but like...happy screams. Ask ( Y/n), she'll know better." she said " MAX!" you yelled red faced as your sister looked at you for answers " Never mind. I'll just give you my mom's Cosmos." whispered her friend.

The Camaro was not here, you clicked your tongue and without even asking the girl you went up the front door, using your powers you unlocked it and headed to the boy's room " Why do I get the feeling we're going to find all kinds of wrong in here?" wondered Max following behind you with a little hesitation to her step. Opening a random drawer the girl groaned seeing the magazines " Ugh. Gag me with a spoon." she spat in disgust slamming it shut " You girls better leave the room to me, just wait downstairs or something." you mumbled looking for any clue.

" CHIEF!" yelled El and you run to the bathroom, you gave her a puzzled look seeing her hold the bag of ice ' He likes it cold.' was the first thing that went threw your head but shook it off " He takes cold baths for his muscles, especially after he teaches clas-" you stopped spotting the bloodstain on the cupboard " Neil isn't here right?" you asked Max not taking your eyes off the stain " No, they will be out of town for a few days." she said as you kneeled down and opened it. 

You let out a shaky breath seeing the familiar objects inside a bucket " Chief?" asked Max as you took out the bloody bag and then a whistle, the girl's looked at you with the same fright you had. Taking in a deep breath you took the things with you and sprinted out of the bathroom " WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" asked Max " To the pool. Those are Heather's." you replied going straight to your bike not caring for the rain " You go back inside. I don't want you with me while I'll be driving!" you called to the two girls and without giving them a second glance you sped off.

Dripping from head to toe you shoved threw people that were fleeing the pool " How kind of you to show up." said the guy at the front desk " Sorry...Is Heather in?" you asked placing her staff on the desk " Nope, she bailed as well." said Tammy chewing a gum  " Hey, kids! Nobody in the water, if you want to get electrocuted go and climb a tree." said the male sounding completely uninterested, you turned around to see El and Max  looking at the stuff photos " Hey ki-" " It's fine. They're with me." you said walking up to them " Heather. Do you think you can find her?" asked Max looking from you to El.

Ripping the photo from the board you motioned to the girls " Follow me." you mumbled, leading them to the showers. Once inside you locked the door and headed to the back, opening all the showers and covering two masks tape you sat across from El " Is everything ok?" she asked and you nodded " Just...last time I tried it things went weird. But it's fine now." you said putting the mask on, you held each others hands.

A single mailbox stood in the dark void " 1438" was written on the sing bellow, you recognized it to be Heather's home,  you approached it while holding El's hand, a bright red door appeared " She's home." you whispered, your voice echoing around. Grasping the handle you hesitated and let it go, El gave your hand a reassuring squeeze before opening it, you recognized the bathtub, you always found it's leg shapes to weird. 

It was filled to the top with ice and water, you jumped back, almost falling as Heather broke out from the water with a gasp " Help me." she begged, her plea echoing " Heather." you called going to take her hand but she was pulled back into the water " HEATHER!|" you screamed diving in the bathtub only for it to disappear. Yours and El's screams echoed around as you saw the girl getting dragged away deeper and deeper in the darkness bellow.

" NO! NO! HEATHER! NOOO!" you screamed trashing in the water in an attempt to brake threw the floor, you gasped feeling something take hold of your hands, in an instant you recognized the white well ironed sleeves " El." you calmly said to the girl who was heavily panting " Get out of here." you said before getting pulled bellow. El let a horrifying scream as she tried reaching after you.

The girl threw the mask away from her eyes panting heavily " What happened?" asked Max looking at the scared girl " Chief what did you-" the red haired stopped watching your body fall to the ground  and El crawling next to you crying " Chief!? CHIEF!" yelled Max removing the mask from your face and shaking you, small drops of blood run down your nose, to the corner of your lips and then to the floor " ( Y/N)!" yelled the girl terrified as your body laid there, unmoving.  

You glared at the blue eyed male " What have you done to Heather?" you spat getting up " Me? I have done absolutely nothing." he said faking innocence and you gritted your teeth, with a scream you threw your hand forward sending the blond flying back. A laugh and a clap was what you heard before getting flang away, it felt like someone had just kicked you on the chest, the man continued to clap, his steps mixing and echoing around you as you sat up " You are so, so wonderful. The only weakness that you have are the people surrounding you." he said garbing your chin and forcing you to look at him " So I'm going to get rid of them first and then show you how to properly use your full potential. Now let me see." he said  coming closer to you. He frowned as your form disappeared " I'm not gonna let you do shit." you spat blood running from your mouth.

The girls screamed as your eyes snapped open and you turned around spatting the blood from the wound you had caused on your tongue by biting him " He's flayed." you mumbled trying to fight your tears " What?" asked Max " Billy and most probably Heather. They are flayed." you said " How do you know that? But El closed the gate!" protested the red haired girl " Let's go and see." offered El, fear still evident in her eyes " Alright, we'll go and see." you agreed.
