A Friend From The Past

" Yea I don't really like this." whispered Steve to the side " What are you talking about?" asked the girl setting her bowling ball down " I get us hanging out with Chief but the past week you have been dragging Jonathan along as well." he complained and Nancy rolled her eyes pulling you further from you and the other male " Steve we're a couple. We can't keep hanging out with ( Y/n) by ourselves, she might feel like she's thirdwheeling. Soooo-" " You decided to set her up with Byers." said the boy in realization and his girlfriend nodded " Exactly! Isn't that a great idea?" she asked with a smile " No." said Steve frowning " No?" asked Nancy " Absolutely no!" said Steve crossing his arms. 

You watched as the two argued " Should we do something?" asked Jonathan and you shook your head " Nah, they're like that most of the time." you said taking a bowling ball and going to throw it " Let's just finish our round and go grab something to eat." you said throwing it and cursed when three  pins remained standing " Sorry but we got a familly movie night and mom is bringing Bob as well so I have to be there." said Jonathan and you nodded " It's all good. I'm glad that Joyce has found someone. Bob's a nice guy." you said as Jonathan made a strike " Yea. What about your dad?" he asked and you shrugged " I have no idea who his seeing. I tried following him but I always end up loosing him." you said hitting two more pins and Jonathan laughed " If you want you can come and join us." he said and you shook your head " Nah it's family night and I seriously can't stay near another couple." you said and threw a glance at Steve and Nancy, the girl was trying to ignore the boy while he apologized.

After saying your farewells you decided to drop by the market to grab some snacks " Maybe I can have a movie night for myself. Maybe I can watch the-SHIT" you yelled hitting your breaks as a girl on a skateboard almost crashed on you and fell to the ground " KID YOU GOOD!?" you yelled getting down from your bike and rushing to her side. You held her in your arms " Are you ok?" you asked her helping her sit up " Yea. Just hit my head a bit." she groaned hand going to the back of her head. You took a moment to inspect her, pale skin that was sunburned, light blue eyes and red hair ' I have never seen her.' you thought and cursed when you saw blood on her hand " Sit here. Don't try to stand up." you said going to one of the pouches hanging from the side of your bike and pulling out a small first aid kid " Do you feel dizzy?" you asked her softly cleaning the wound " No." she replied and you pulled her up " You sure?" you asked her now that she was standing at her feet " Yea, I'm sure." she said and you sighed in relief " Good that's good. What's your name?" you asked her " Max Mayfield." she said and you gave her your hand " ( Y/n) Hopper but most people call me Chief." you said as she took your hand and shook it " Listen how about I take you home? Just in case you begin not feeling well." you said and the girl gave you a strange look " I can skate home." she said and just then one of her wheels fell to the ground. Max scanned you up and down and found herself grimacing at your scars, not because she thought that they were disgusting or something, they just looked painful " Alright." she said and you smiled ' I might get murdered but...it's better than getting yelled at.' she thought as you lifted her to sit on Betty " Hold tight." you said turning the keys and starting the engine.

Max showed you her home, the lights were on and at the front door stood a beautiful woman, that greatly resembled the girl, looking up and down the street in worry " MAXINE!" she called as you parked on their driveway. You pulled the girl down and her mother quickly pulled her in a hug " Where were you all these hours we got worried sick!" she scolded and run her hand threw the girls bright red hair only to stop " You're hurt!" she said and you stepped forward " She fell from her board and seeing that she had hit her head I offered to bring her home." you said and only when you spoke did the woman realize that you were there. She took your hands and gave them a light squeeze " Thank you so much! Please come inside and let me treat you to a refreshment." she said but before you could deny she was pulling you aling with her.
