The walls were painted gold with the Clash Royale Kingdom Logo. Some walls were adorned with shelves, which had lots of books Kevin was excited to read.
"Ok, now that Dad is gone, what do we do?" Kevin asked.
"I don't know, let's just follow these skeletons," Andrew replied.
When the skeletons stopped, they looked around. There was a podium at the center, where a P.E.K.K.A was standing with a Giant Skeleton.
"Bu-tter-flies!" the P.E.K.K.A exclaimed, then frowned. In a robot voice, he told everyone,"You shall be assigned classes based on your surnames. You can come to the Vice Principal, to get assigned your dorm, classes, and more stuff. Please get into the line with the sign that says your surname. Thank you, you may begin."
"So that's why we have different surnames!" Kevin exclaimed, and Andrew shrugged.
This brought attention to them. They scurried into their lines before anyone could yell or shout about them. When the two were assigned classes and dorms, they waved to each other and headed to their first period. While Andrew was walking to his classroom, he overheard a horde of minions talking.
One minion said: "I heard we're going to go into battles now! At school! Isn't that so cool?"
"Yeah!" Agreed a fat minion.
"I'm so excited! We might as well be the best at battles!" Exclaimed another minion.
"Well we better head to class then!" A small minion told the others.
Then, the minions flew off to their class. This left Andrew feeling excited about school.
Suddenly, a voice told him,"You must be the prince. Don't trust them. They always tell lies. Only at your last year you get to do battles." It was another troop who probably had the same surname.
They looked almost the same.
"Wow, you look just like me! How did anyone notice us?" Andrew asked.
"Because of your crowns, of course," the troop replied.
"Hey, what classes do you have?" Andrew asked excitedly. "Well first, I'm going to go to Philosophy-and"
"Me too! Come on,let's go!" Andrew pulled the troops hand, and they ran off to class.
Meanwhile, Kevin was already at his class, sitting alone. So far he hadn't made any friends. He noticed though, that everyone was staring at him. The others looked just like him! He smiled. The teacher began to teach karate.
"So today, as you know, is the first day of school. Today, we will be doing some warmups, and tomorrow we'll begin the basics." the teacher explained. Half the class groaned and half the class smiled. Kevin was the one that groaned.
He thought,"What's the point of class if you don't even get to do karate?"
"You will get to do your warmup with a partner. I will write the pairs on the board. In the meantime, go to the back of the room, where we do karate." The teacher continued. After the kids went to the back of the room, Kevin looked at the board. He was assigned with someone by the name Ryan. He glanced to the back of the room, and noticed there was a giant by himself on the mat, glaring at it. Kevin decided that this must be his partner, and walked to him.
"Oh my gosh! You're the prince of the kingdom!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Just don't talk about it that much!!" Kevin exclaimed, stressed of all the stares and attention.
Then, the teacher came to the back of the room and told the troops, "In your warmup, you will practice fighting with your hands and legs if you ever get your weapon stolen. Today we will test how fast you can attack. Start by kicking, chopping, or kicking in the air with speed." Everyone began kicking in the air, after the teacher demonstrated, except Kevin.
"Come on,princey-pants!" Ryan exclaimed.
"Ugh,just stop calling me names!" Kevin told Ryan sternly.
He began the warm up. Everyone oohed and aahed. Ryan punched in the air, accidentally hitting the lights causing it to break into glass pieces, and everything to dark.
"I knew this would happen, but not that early!" the teacher snapped.
He turned to Ryan, scowling. Ryan frowned and shivered. Kevin smiled.
"And you, sir, get detention!" he snarled. Tears dropped from Ryan's eyes. Everyone laughed, including Kevin.
"That's what he gets," Kevin whispered.
Ryan was led away.
"Well, looks like we'll have to cancel the rest of your class. You may settle in your dorms in the meantime. You have 3o minutes." The teacher told them.
Everyone scurried out. Kevin went up to a skeleton who seemed quite lonely.
"Hi there," Kevin said, taking this opportunity to make a new friend.
The skeleton screamed and ran away. Kevin sighed, wishing his brother was here. His brother was the most annoying person he'd ever met (among his family, and a bunch of other servants in the palace and drivers) but he loved his brother. He was so cool, and at any moment he helped him out of a situation. Kevin felt like crying. Suddenly, he saw Andrew, his brother walking down the hall, angrily.
"Hey! What happened?" Kevin asked.
"Don't try to make me angrier," Andrew replied.
"What-what happened?" Kevin asked.
"My stupid fake friend literally sent me a paper airplane and I had to miss out on the rest of the class because the teacher thought I wasn't focusing," Andrew explained.
Kevin was interested in this topic.
"So what w-was his name?" He asked nervously.
Surprisingly, Andrew was being nice.
"I didn't even get to know his name because of how quickly he turned his back on me!" he replied.
Andrew glanced at Kevin a second time and asked,"What are you doing here?"
Kevin replied,"My partner literally punched the ceiling lamp and broke it, so class got canceled." "Wow, sounds like someone pretty stupid," Andrew said.
"Yeah,he kept pointing out the fact that I'm prince...." Kevin agreed.
"Great, so this day is going terrible for both of us," Andrew told Kevin.
"I just wish we were together the whole day," Kevin sighed.
Instead of teasing Kevin, Andrew said,"I guess..."
Kevin glanced at his watch.
"First period is almost over, got to go," Kevin told Andrew.
"Well, see you at lunch then..." Andrew told Kevin.
"See you!" Kevin exclaimed, and glanced at his schedule paper.
He felt a lot better after meeting up with Andrew. It seemed that he had Kitchen Care next.
"What kind of class will this be? I hope the teacher's nice." Kevin asked himself.
He followed the directions to Kitchen Care, and went inside. He glanced at the clock; he was LATE! He glanced over at the others; everyone had separate kitchens and were organizing. There was a girl teacher with sandy blonde hair; she smiled at Kevin kindly.
"You must be the prince! Nice to meet you! Please go to your assigned kitchen and tidy up!" she exclaimed.
"Okay,thanks!" Kevin exclaimed happily.
Maybe this class wouldn't be so bad after all. Then he noticed that Ryan was in the kitchen next to him. He groaned. Ryan waved, but Kevin ignored him. He decided to use a towel and clean up his kitchen. It seemed perfectly clean, but the teacher specifically told him to tidy up.
Then the teacher announced,"Okay kids, time is up! You all might have thought that your kitchen was perfectly clean, but turns out you were wrong! There were tiny germ molecules in the kitchen! Congratulations to those who did that!"
Kevin smiled. Finally, a good thing in the day.
The teacher continued,"Well-"
Suddenly, something was flung at the teacher. A squirt of ketchup. The teacher gazed angrily at Ryan. Of course.
Kevin thought,"Maybe he always tries to get into trouble."
"I'm sorry Ryan, but you have to get detention for doing that! Please be more respectful next time!" The teacher wiped her shirt, but the smear just spread more.
"I'll change that later, let's continue." The teacher told the students.
After Ryan went out the door sadly, Kevin felt way better.
"I guess this won't be the worst day of my life." He whispered to himself happily.
The teacher continued," "Today, we will learn how to make a healthy meal. Let's start off with something easy, like a salad. I'll write the instructions on the board." She wrote the ingredients needed and the steps required to make the salad.
"The ingredients shall be in your cabinet..."
Kevin looked up on the board and grabbed lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and dressing of Kevin's choice (ranch) from his cabinet. Then, he got a bowl from the front desk. Once the salad was done, (it looked pretty good) he went and sat next to another knight.
"Hi, my name is Kevin... What's your name?" Kevin asked the Knight.
"Hey, princey-pants," the knight replied. Kevin was angered, and stomped away, to an empty corner.
"I HATE SCHOOL!" he yelled, which resulted in a bunch of distraught stares.
Suddenly, he could hear someone yell the same thing, but from the floor above. He couldn't quite figure out whose voice it was, but he was happy that at least someone else was experiencing his pain.
The teacher asked solemnly,"What's wrong, Prince Kevin?"
"Everyone is calling me names and not trying to be my friend! You all don't understand what kind of pressure this is for me! You all are so stupid and mean!" he replied, letting it all out due to his anger.
"That's not very nice, Kevin! You will have to miss out on the rest of class!" The teacher told him.
"Ugh, stupid teacher," he whispered, as he walked out the door.
He decided to check out his dorm. He followed the directions to his dorm, and finally found it.
"I should get some rest now." He said to himself.
Kevin lay on his soft, golden bed, and checked his schedule. Kevin had lunch in 20 minutes. Kevin wanted to take a nap, but he didn't feel like sleeping. He wanted to be like his brother Andrew, who never took naps.
"Naps are for hog riders," Andrew had said once when Kevin was 5.
"Andrew used to play games on his phone when he was 12. Maybe I should do that too, like a big kid." He told himself.
Kevin got up and grabbed his phone that was ringing on his shiny, purple table. It was his dad, the Golden Knight. At first, Kevin thought of declining the call like Andrew would have, but he didn't want to be rude. Anyways, he did need some support, and that's what his Dad always gave him. He realized one thing. He missed his parents, and he hated this stupid school. His dad always told him he would get royal tutoring one day, when he was old enough like Andrew, but now their Dad had agreed to send them to public school. Kevin pressed the accept button as hard as possible. Golden Knight appeared on the screen. For a second, it looked like he had been crying for hours, but Golden Knight flicked his hair and everything looked normal.
"Hey, Kevin! What's up?" The Golden Knight asked him.
"This school is so stupid!" He blurted out.
"What happened?" Golden Knight asked curiously.
"Well, first of all, my partner Ryan, kicked the lights. Second of all, everyone has been calling me "princey- pants.". Third of all, THE STUPID DAY IS JUST HORRIBLE!!!" Kevin yelled out loud.
"Whenever you say a bad word, I know something's up. I'll see into having this Ryan kid expelled from the school."
"Thanks, Dad!" Kevin exclaimed, finally happy.
"Well I need to go to lunch now, see you!" Kevin exclaimed.
"Bye son!" Golden Knight exclaimed in response.
Then, Kevin cut the call, and went in the royal elevator to lunch. Kevin got to cut in front of everyone in the lunch line because he was "royal." Andrew came to the cafeteria quite late. He and Kevin got their own private table. Everyone was angry at this rule.
"So, what happened in the second period?" Kevin asked, munching his burger.
"It was horrible. Everyone kept running into me, and I kept falling over. I heard someone yell 'I HATE SCHOOL!' so I copied them."
"That was you?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah. We're royals and this day is going so bad for us. I can't believe Dad agreed to send us to school." Andrew replied, disgusted.
"I know, right?" Kevin agreed.
After that, for the rest of the lunch they didn't speak to each other. When lunch was over they silently split up and went to their next period. Kevin glanced at his schedule and made a disgusted look.
"Knitting? Is this school for old grandmas or what?" he asked.
He sighed.
"Only to make the day even more worse." he told no one in particular.
Fortunately, Ryan was not in his knitting class. A teacher with hazel eyes looked down at Kevin with a big smile on her face. Kevin couldn't resist but smile back at her. As he got into his royal seat, he noticed some knitting utensils and fabric on his desk.
"Hey guys! My name is Hazel. Today I will teach you some basic knitting."
The teacher went on and on about knitting, and Kevin was bored to death. He thought about him and Andrew ditching school. He sighed, knowing that they would be in trouble. He smiled. At least Andrew was with him too. As his mom told him, maybe he should make the best of what he had. Thinking about all this, the bell rang.
"Okay kids, class is over! Thanks for coming!" Hazel exclaimed, but students were already out the door.
"Is that person a grandma or what?" someone asked.
Kevin looked over at another knight. "I'm Kevin, what's your name?" he asked.
"Oh, hi, PRINCEY-PANTS!" the knight replied, and Kevin's face went deep red.
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Kevin yelled, and ran to his dorm.
He was skipping the fifth period. He had a choice, anyways. He could do his homework, or attend the optional class, Koala Aid. He loved koalas, but the day was already so bad. He lay down in his dorm, and decided to read a book.
Meanwhile, Andrew was walking down the hallway, angered. His fake friend had given Andrew the wrong answers when they were partners in Pre-Algebra! So much for the teacher calling them, 'best friends.' He was skipping fifth period for sure. He was just going to head to his dorm and ignore everyone. His classes were so stupid. This was the first time he was ever nice to Kevin, only because he was also going through this with him. He got to his dorm, arranged his stuff, then he picked up his phone, wanting to play Clashanop. He noticed that he had a missed call from the Golden Knight. Usually he would have ignored it, but he decided to call him. The Golden Knight instantly picked up.
"Hey Andrew, I wasn't expecting you to call." The Golden Knight said.
Golden Knight continued, "Anyways, I need you to tell the principal that I order you to come home right this instant. Don't ask why, and tell your brother to come home too. This is very important. Bye!" The Golden Knight said in a hurry.
"Bye!" Andrew exclaimed, worried.
He quickly called Kevin and told him everything. Then, as soon as possible, the two brothers met up and told the principal they needed to leave. After they told the principal, they called their private bus.
"What speed?" asked the driver.
"50 mph." Andrew replied quickly.
The driver drove off, concerned with their hurry to get home.
