Chapter 10: The Arena

Principal P.EK.K.A stood on a stadium and glanced down at everybody.

"Welcome back,everyone. I hope you've enjoyed your break. We will go into battle tomorrow,so you better be prepared. Instead of having classes,I'll give you one last day to prepare. You can see that battling is very important,because it covers 85% of your grade." Principal P.EK.K.A announced. People gulped at this. The two heard a musketeer whisper,"I didn't practice..." Kevin hoped to get paired up with her.

"Happy practicing!" Principal P.EK.K.A exclaimed. Everyone ran off to the gymnasium,but Andrew and Kevin stood there like jelly.

"Are you feeling better,Prince Andrew?" Principal P.EK.K.A asked,ashamed.
"Yyess thank youu," Andrew replied happily with a thumbs up in addition.
"You're certainly looking better. As a surprise,I arranged your own private training area." Principal P.EK.K.A told them with a smile. They smiled too at this. They went to the training area,which was equipped with all kinds of training equipment! It was even better than the gym. The only problem was that it was a little bit smaller.
"I hope this will do. Enjoy your practice!" Principal P.E.K.K.A exclaimed,and walked away slowly.
"This is pretty good..." Kevin remarked.
"I supposeee. Whatt aree you waiting forr?" Andrew asked.
"Ok,what do you want to do first?" Andrew asked.
"Onee on onee duell?" Andrew suggested,but Kevin shook his head.
"How about we run a few laps,do some pushups,and you know,basically do a workout?" Kevin supplied,and Andrew replied,"Suree,but whyy not onee on onee?"
"You're too powerful," Kevin told Andrew with a smile,and Andrew grinned. They ran a few laps,did some stretches,and practiced their movements.
"Are you sure you're ready? You missed a month of training." Kevin told Andrew while panting.
"I'mm finee. I wokee up at 6AMM!" Andrew told Kevin.
"I guess," Kevin murmured,and then they headed down to dinner. (They skipped lunch for practicing.)
Kevin's tummy rumbled. "Let's check our weight in the cafe'," he suggested,but Andrew told him,"I don't thinkk theyy havee a sssscale." They went to the bathroom first,and checked their weight. They both had lost 1 pound!

After eating healthy food at dinner for tomorow's battle,they decided to train until 10PM,because they had to be in their dorms by 10:15PM.

Kevin asked curiously,"Who will you battle with?"
"A Valkyriee orr ssskeleton armyy ," Andrew replied.
"If you get skeleton army-" Kevin started.
"I'mm nott dead. I havee electricityy insidee myy bodyy,remember?" Andrew reminded.
"Oh,but isn't that cheating?" Kevin asked.
"Well,not reallyy. It is unfairr that theyy put skeletonn armyy." Andrew replied.
"I suppose," Kevin agreed.

After training,the two headed to their dorms,their heads full of worry. Kevin saw a note on his bed. He read:

Kevin, you will be battling against a goblin cage or an ice wizard. Just a heads up.

Kevin was worried about these troops because he had never seen them before. Hopefully he had trained enough to beat them. Maybe he could find out what they do on Cloocle. He picked up his phone and went on Cloocle. He searched for ice wizards. There were many images of the ice wizard being swift and elegant. He clicked on a video that showed him that the ice wizard could slow down others. Kevin gulped. "Please don't be the ice wizard," he whispered. Next, he searched up the goblin cage. He read that he escaped from prison. Kevin felt shivers go down his spine. First Kevin would have to break his cage. Then, the goblin would start punching Kevin and Kevin would have to fight back. He closed his phone scaredly.

"I'll just sleep over this,I'll feel better in the morning," he told himself and fell fast asleep.

That day,in the arena,everyone held up flags or banners and cheered. Kevin gulped. He watched Principal P.EK.K.A beat Vice Principal Giant Skeleton,
Principal PE.K.K.A announced,"Now our next battle shall be Prince Andrew Prince vs Vallery Valkyrie! Andrew looked confident. He slowly marched to the stage. A confident valkyrie walked out from the other end of the stage,axe in hand.
"This will hopefully be easy," Andrew whispered to himself.
Kevin murmured,"Phew, he's better."
On stage,Prince Andrew tried his best but moved really slow.
"That guy? This will be easy." Vallery said rudely. Andrew got angry at this, and soon he was doing his speed boost. He hit Vallery with his baton and she turned into elixir immediately,then reappeared on the other end of the stage,crossing her arms in disappointment. Kevin cheered.
"And that's a win for Prince Andrew! Andrew,you've passed! Vallery,you've failed,but you'll be given one more chance." Principal PE.K.K.A told everyone. Vallery grinned at this.

A few more matches passed, some losses and some victories. Kevin saw Kaden at one point. Kaden was battling against a goblin cage. Unfortunately, for Kaden, he lost. He stared at his feet but then glared at Kevin with angry,cold eyes. What did I do? Kevin thought.
"Next up, Prince Kevin Knight vs Izzy Ice Wizard." Principal P.E.K.K.A glanced at Kevin and winked. Kevin saw an ice wizard waiting there elegantly. She had white hair at the top and blue hair at the bottom, and blue, shiny eyes. She wore a blue dress.
"You probably know that she's the only girl ice wizard ever born. She looks innocent, but is pretty fierce, so beware." Principal P.E.K.K.A continued. Kevin felt scared for a second, but then he saw Andrew and Vice Principal Giant Skeleton holding a banner that said,"GO KEVIN!" Kevin felt confident at this, and ran down to the arena. Izzy made Kevin go slow,but Kevin defeated her easily,surprisingly. Kevin felt bad when he saw Izzy sad. Her blue hair really matched her feelings.
"And that concludes the match! Prince Kevin Knight won! Do not worry Izzy,you will get another chance." Izzy went up against a gang of goblins. She won, and she felt happy. Kevin felt happy for her too.
"You in love,lil' bro?" Andrew teased,and Kevin punched him in the shoulder and replied,"Stop, you're wrong!" but he felt like Andrew was right. He could only stare at Izzy as she jumped giddily. The rest of the battles went pretty well. After that, they went back inside the academy, satisfied with their performance..
