12: Single but not ready to mingle

I knocked on Sam's door and waited for him to answer
"Come in " he said
I opened the door and saw him , sitting on the bed wearing a t-shirt and pajamas
He looked at me and smiled
"Heyy" I said giving him a slight hug
"How are you ? How were your exams?" He asked me
"They were good " I said sitting on the bedside
There was awkward silence in the room but luckily Shreyash came
"Hey Join us for lunch" he said
"Honestly I need to leave " I said looking at him
"Well okay then "he said leaving closing the door behind him
"What ,you are leaving but you just came here?" Sam said
"Yeah I remembered that I had to submit a few assignments before tomorrow so I need to go to college"I said getting up
" Well alright then it was good to see you "he said
I hugged him before leaving and he hugged back
I left the room and bumped into Shubhman

"Hey I need to talk to you " I said
"I think I know what it is about" he said he had a stern look on his face and I knew he wasn't taking it well
"Listen I thought we should not add to the physical pain he is facing that's why I asked you to lie but on the bright side he didn't ask anything so we can make up something"
I said and he looked at me with his serious face
" Wait why should we lie to him ,he knew we had chemistry and he told me it would not be a problem if we date "Shubhman said
" I didn't know that well it's good then we don't have to lie "I said turning to reach the living room
But he held my wrists stopping me
" Wait I'm not letting this go , I get it that you care for him but so much that you were ready to lie about our relationship"he said and I knew I had made a mistake
"Listen I'm sorry I didn't know what else to do please I didn't mean to appear as if I was single or anything"I said holding his hand
" Okay I guess it's fine then "he said
" Also I didn't think that you wanted to show that you were single or anything I know you would not do that "he said and I smiled
" I love you you know that right "I said and his eyes lit up
" I love you too ",he leaned it for a kiss
Suddenly the door opened and Sam saw us both and smiled brightly
"I knew you both had chemistry" he said and the both of us smiled
"Bye guys" I said and they both waved at me
I saw Shreyash in the living room
I hugged him and he hugged me back
"Byee " I said and left the house
"Too close " Shubhman whispered to himself
Y/n got out of the house and soon reached her own
She sat on her bed smiling feeling happy and content as her relationship was going well.
She decided to not lie about anything from now on as she laid on her bed
She fell asleep and dreamt of her dreamy boyfriend.
