"This isn't going to be a yearly visit, gentlemen."

Sam puts on his puppy dog eyes to reply for the full effect.

"Yes, we know Jody."

He turns to the fallen angel and his brother with a gentle smile. "We've got the time to visit more now that we are retiring hunting."

Jody and Donna give the three men a grateful nod in return.

The retirement was a long time coming, but what kick-started the process was when Sam and Dean finally brought Cas back from the Empty - with the help of Jack. Dean insisted that now that Cas was human, he didn't want to continue down this path that John forced them on and not be able to live their life.

He wanted to show Cas the world - something that Dean himself wanted to see in a more positive light.

Sam was more than happy to step away from hunting monsters, especially now that the Winchesters both have people to live for - Cas and Eileen.

The house that Donna and Jody moved into has the homey essence that would make anyone feel welcome when they step foot onto the doormat (which shouldn't be welcoming as it says "Caution: my children bite"). It has three bedrooms that are being occupied most of the time with the constant visits that the girls give Jody and Donna.

-

Jody and Donna's house was the first place that the three of them wanted to visit after the whole Chuck ordeal, and it's a bonus that Claire and Kaia were visiting at the same time.

The only problem was that only one bedroom would be available for them since the house has only three bedrooms.

The time is nearing midnight, and the whole household is full with Jody's spaghetti and meatballs. Dean is the first to head to bed as he was driving most of the day.

"I'm not as young as I used to be, Sam! I need my beauty rest."

"I don't think rest could fix your face, Dean." Sam retorted.

"Shut up, Sammy."

Excluding Dean, everyone else continues talking and drinking wine.

Dean walks into the room and searches his bag for his pajamas - an old led zeppelin shirt and grey sweatpants. He quickly changes and climbs under the thick quilt.

He shoots a quick text to Cas before his head hits the pillow and falls asleep soon after.

Dean: Come to bed soon
-

It's not the first time that Castiel is human, but he still hasn't fully grasped all human concepts. Dean still has to remind him that he needs to sleep most of the time, or else Cas just falls asleep wherever instead of their bed.

Cas has determined that he likes wine, especially the red one that Jody has brought out.

A glass of wine later, and Claire and Kaia head to their room sleepily. Donna looks like she's on her way to going that direction herself soon, leaving Sam, Cas and Jody.

Cas and Jody are trading dessert recipes at around one in the morning when Sam claps him on the shoulder and announces his leave, reminding Cas again to head to bed soon.

"Don't leave me in there with Dean's snores for too long, man." Sam jokes.

When Cas finally heads to the spare room, after helping Jody clean up the kitchen and wine glasses, he spots Dean fully spread out on the right side of the bed with Sam on his phone on the other side.

"Sam?" Cas whispers.

Sam's head pops up at his voice.

"How are we supposed to all fit?"

They both look at Dean, who is lightly snoring and starfished as much as he can be.

Sam smirks. "We should fit. Just move Dean."

Cas still stays at the doorway. "Or I can just sleep in the living room."

"I don't think that couch would be the most comfortable." Sam reasons.

Cas silently agrees and goes to move to the bed.

They both agree that Dean can stay in the middle and can suffer in the morning.

Cas climbs into the bed which doesn't result in any reaction from Dean, so he pushes Dean more towards the middle so they can all fit.

Dean grumbles a bit as he gets moved but doesn't wake up.

Sam falls asleep soon after and leaves Cas to try and count sheep.

As if sensing his presence, Dean moves onto his side and drops his leg on Cas like an anchor and snores into Cas' shoulder.

The ex-angel wraps an arm around him and soon drops off to sleep too.

-

Sam's alarm rings at six in the morning and wakes up both Sam and Dean.

Cas is in a deep enough sleep that he barely even stirs. Dean wakes up in Cas' arms, which has started to get less surprising the amount of times he has woken up the same way, ever since they started sharing a bed about two months ago.

Dean slowly turns to Sam as the alarm gets turned off.

"Why do you hate me?" He mutters.

Sam chuckles. "I'm going for a run."

"Couldn't you do it in a few hours? Aren't you tired?" Dean complains.

"And stay here to listen to your snoring? Might as well get up now." Sam responds.

If looks could kill... Dean would put Sam in the ground in no time.

"Well, atleast I don't kick in my sleep."

"Jerk."

"Bitch."

As Sam leaves the room he gives one last comment. "Later Grandpa."

Even though no one conscious is around to hear him, Dean still grumbles: "Cas is older than both of us."

Possibly unconsciously responding to his name, Cas shifts a bit and pulls Dean against him again before his breath evens out.

The tables have turned, and Dean watches Cas sleep for once as he goes back to sleep slowly.

This is the start of the rest of our lives.

Look out world, a change is gonna come for the Winchesters.
