Ayanokouji Kiyotaka POV
Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom on the last period for homeroom.
She had a bright smile on her face which was quite an unusual sight. In fact, this must be the first time we saw her smile like that.
"Uhm... Chabashira-sensei? Are you okay?" Ike asked looking uncomfortable.
For him and to most students to see Chabashira-sensei acting the opposite of her usual cold self surely felt unnatural.
"I haven't been better Ike," she declared standing at the podium.
"Are there good news?" Mori asked raising her hand, she leaned forward expecting a positive answer.
Chabashira-sensei didn't let her down as she nodded merrily. She raised her hand and showed us a tube.
"I have here your exams' results," she stated, her smile didn't look like it was going to vanish.
Her announcement seemed to brighten the mood of my classmates as they began to whisper and smile at one another.
It was time to see the results, then. It had been about ten days since the final exams, and we were in mid-December already. Until now, all we could do was theorise what the results of the special exam were based on our individual performances.
For the special exam, which was called the Paper Shuffle, we had faced Class A by creating the questions they would answer on the final exams of the semester while they created the questions we had to answer. To my classmates, I had been the one who created those questions. While, in reality the questions we had sent were the ones Koenji had come up with. He had accepted because I had proposed to measure myself against him seriously on the exam. Obviously, I couldn't be sure that was incentive enough, so, I had Kei babysit him. In the end, she did a great job.
"Well? What are the results, Chabashira-sensei?" Kikuchi said inquisitively.
Chabashira-sensei spread out the tube and stuck the poster to the blackboard with some magnets.
"See for yourself."
The poster contained all our individual results with our total and average.
Puzzled looks appeared in most of my classmates since the results of the class weren't that great. Overall, the class's total average was of 707 which was barely fifteen points above the minimum score each pair needed to pass. The best thing these results showed us was that no one would be expelled.
"Chabashira—"
"Hah!" Koenji laughed loudly out of the blue, interrupting Yousuke. "Not bad Demon-boy. Didn't expect less of you."
As Koenji continued to laugh, everyone began searching for my name among the top ten students which was where I was usually placed.
"It seems you actually got full marks on everything, Ayanokouji-kun," my seatmate Suzune declared as she took notes to keep track of everyone's records.
I was the only student that had scored full marks on every subject. Second on the list was Koenji who had full marks on everything but chemistry where he had scored a 94. From there, the list continued with Yukimura, Suzune, Wang, Chiaki, Yousuke, Kushida and so on. Although no one besides Koenji and me had scored above 90. The next best result was Yukimura's 86 on the math exam.
My classmates began complementing me and I could see Akito giving me a thumbs up.
"Damn, Ayanokouji! How did you do that?!" Ike exclaimed taking his hands to his head.
