I knocked on the door of Nao's room.

At first, I didn't think it was necessary to have a conversation with her. However, I was concerned with how this latest development would affect Nao's mind.

Seeing Rin and Tsukasa on TV was weird. I did not expect to see Tsukasa so soon nor to see Rin again, but I guess that whatever their plan was, it had been put in motion. Tsukasa's charity back then made a little more sense but to choose a sports event was peculiar. Of course, if it had been to let us know they were alive and well, there were more discreet and efficient ways to do so. Especially considering that such a display befitted Karma more than those two.

The door opened to reveal a Nao wearing simple shorts and a pullover.

She tilted her head. "Kiyo? What are you doing here?"

"Do I need a reason to visit my girlfriend?"

"You're not the type to visit people just because, Kiyo," she furrowed her brow.

"Hmm... May I?" I asked if I could enter as she studied me, trying to decipher my reason to come.

She quickly agreed with a soft "sure" and I entered the room. As she closed the door, I took my shoes off.

"Something to drink?"

"Some chocolate, thanks.'

After answering her question, I entered the living room while she remained in the kitchen and prepared the drinks.

The news channel was playing on the TV. The desk was a complete mess with several books opened and a collection of papers laying all around. Facing the chair was Nao's laptop displaying a press article regarding Tsukasa's match, there were also a great number of tabs opened, and although I didn't bother to check what they were about, the subject of Nao's research was easy to guess.

"Here's your—oh..."

After looking over the papers for a few minutes, Nao's voice got my attention. I turned to her to see her; she seemed unsure about what to say as her eyes drifted all over the room.

"Yeah, I suppose you would see that," she said, refusing to meet my eyes.

I walked up to her and took the cup of hot chocolate from her hand.

"Thank you," I said before going over to the bed and taking a seat.

"Why do you think they did that?"

Instead of answering, I motioned for her to sit by my side. With a sigh, she complied.

"So?" she asked as I took a sip of my drink.

"It's good," I pointed out, gesturing toward the coffee. "Have you been practising?"

She gave me a side look, raising an eyebrow as if asking if I was serious.

"Fine," I sighed. "Nao. It doesn't matter."

"What do you mean it doesn't matter?"

"Just that. It does not matter."

She stood up abruptly. "How can you say it doesn't matter! It obviously does. Whatever they're doing affects us—"

"It does not. At least not anytime soon."

"But—!"

"Nao." Hearing the way I pronounced her name, she immediately shut up, and crossed her arms. I stood up and took the remote to mute the TV. After what, I told her to sit once again and as she did so, I drank a bit more of my chocolate. The quality of the drinks she prepares has improved, I wonder what the result would be if I told her to cook something. "How are you feeling?" I asked, standing in front of her.
