As Sarah walked past Tessa, her strides fueled with rage and sadness, she looked dead in the eye of Tessa's and shook her head. Sarah was shocked by her life decisions. Scratch that- disgusted. She couldn't believe she had given her trust to two snakes who had been backstabbing her this whole time. The cold New York air was like Sarah's cold heart as she swore she would never ever trust a boy again. Getting cheated on twice, she was done with boys. She gave them all her love and support and in return got cheated on. If this was karma, she sure knew it was a bitch. Hayden had not upset her as much as Dylan had. Dylan knew Sarah had trust issues after her first relationship yet he still played with her emotions and her heart. She was just a plastic bag after all. Used and replaced. Biting down her lips, preventing herself from breaking down and sobbing just right there, she ran towards her home.

"All boys are the same, fuck you Hayden and fuck you, Dylan. I hope you all rot in hell!" she shouted towards the sky as she ran. She still couldn't comprehend the events that unfolded tonight. Dylan and she were having a great time during dinner and then Dylan went to play video games in the other room while Sarah turned to finish her work on the laptop. Later someone had texted Dylan and since his phone was left in the room Sarah was in, she had chanced upon it. She had read the text and had opened his phone to investigate to find out Dylan was cheating on her. Well, not that Sarah didn't trust Dylan, when you have trust issues, you question everything. And then she confronted Dylan, fought and now here she was running home like Cinderella at midnight.

Her legs ached and she decided to sit down and have a breather. As her eyes were comforted by the dark, she realised she was at the park. Darn it! She had memories with Dylan here. Everywhere she went, Dylan would be there. Dylan loved travelling and so did Sarah which resulted in them having made so many memories in multiple places. Now, she would be travelling alone while Dylan is busy impressing Tessa.

The night grew darker and the only light sources were the moon and the occasional street lamps. The moon shone so brightly, that she wondered what it felt like to go to the moon. Away from Earth. Away from everyone. Away from Dylan. She had wanted to be an astronaut when she was younger until she decided to screw that idea and become a doctor instead. It became colder as midnight fell.

December in New York was a different level of winter. It was the type of coldness that reached into bones, as if the heart were a loose door left wide open to the icy wind, slamming only to open again. The sky, a rolling blanket of clouds the colour of wet ash, and the ground its dank reflection. The cold nights give us ever more reason to draw closer to one another, to feel the natural warmth we are born to give. Yet, here Sarah was tugging on her sweater for warmth, longing for her mother's warm hug. She missed her parents and her home. She missed being a child, happy and carefree. She missed being single. Well, she was now but the single before any relationship was much better. "Life fucking sucks!!" she screamed and sobbed even more.

"Hey, you alright?" said someone from behind. Sarah wiped her tears away and looked behind.

The tall figure lurked around her as someone approached her. When the silhouette came closer, she realised it was a guy. The guy had the kind of face that stopped you in your tracks. He was fair, almost pale white. His unfathomable, golden-brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light-toned face. His eyes were deep and expressive, where you could get lost if you stared long enough. His face had that faraway look in it, which could not be described in words. His smile reached up to his eyes and there was a glint of goofiness in the smile. He was muscular and had dirty blonde hair. He had worn a black and white flannel shirt with black jeans and topped it off with a beanie, a necklace that hugged his neck and small earrings that decorated his ears. He was handsome alright but something told Sarah he was beautiful inside. But with the recent events, she decided to not judge a book by its cover. Dylan looks innocent but that didn't age well. Sarah just admired his features with tired eyes and face painted with sweat, run-down mascara and tears.
