Chapter 13: 45th and 46th entry
Song: Backstabber ~ Kesha
Not even a day later, whole Toman knew you played a huge role in saving Ken's life. 'Who is the rat?!' you thought angrily as you didn't want them to know that you saved Ken. It only made them think that you can treat every wound and they don't have to worry about it when you are clearly not qualified for treating such wounds. Now even more of Toman's members followed you around. Manjiro has been more clingy than usual and you didn't have a moment of alone time anymore. 'What a bother.' you sighed, exhausted already.
Luckily, no one followed you around at the frequent visits to the hospital, always bringing food for Ken saying he needs to replenish his energy. He would always retort that he is going to become fat because of the amount you feed him, but you would only ignore him and just stuff the chopsticks filled with food in his mouth.
Today, you were visiting Ken again, this time with Manjiro. Manjiro was carrying a bag with his old Toman uniform. He said he wanted Takemichi to have it.
You opened the door to Ken's room and saw him sitting on his bed, eating. "Hey. How do you feel?" you greeted while entering the room. "Good. They said I can leave the hospital in a few weeks." Ken smiled at you. You drooped off the bag of food and sat on one of the chairs. Ken only eyed the bag suspiciously. Manjiro and you noticed, "When you don't want the food, I will gladly take it!" Manjiro almost screeched. "No! It's for Ken!" you put Manjiro in a headlock and ruffled his hair as you saw him approaching the food. "You are so mean!" Manjiro whined while trying to escape your grasp. "You ruined my hair." Manjiro pouted. You only smiled at him, leading him to a chair and fixing his hair. While your fingers brushed through his hair, Manjiro leaned into your touch, clearly enjoying your attention.
You held some small talk until Manjiro decided to leave to go to the roof. Before that, he left his old uniform and said we should give it to Takemichi. After a while of happily chatting, someone entered the room. It was a disastrous creature so you screeched and threw the nearest thing, which was a remote control, hitting the creature's head. "Ow!" Takemichi exclaimed. "I think I have to purify my eyes with holy water after this." you said as you noticed that this was actually Takemichi entering the room. Ken only laughed at your action and comment. "Draken-kun! How ya holdin' up?!" Takemichi ignored your comment. You could see Ken's eye twitching, "Quit acting like a jackass." "Huh?! H-...How am I acting like one?" Takemichi asked, sweat-dropping. "You've got it written all over you. And take those shitty clothes off! When someone gives you an inch, don't take a mile, you moron. It's lame as hell." Ken continued with his assault. You were quietly chuckling at Ken's boldness. "You wouldn't understand, Draken-kun. What it's like to live in the shadows..." Takemichi only said. "Hm? Don't be creepy." Ken tried to calm Takemichi down but he suddenly leaned really close into Ken's face, "This is the first time anyone's ever looked up to me! Let me live a little, okay?!" "I can't believe you'd admit something that depressing at max volume..." Ken sweatdropped.
