It was afternoon when you were on your way home from work. It was a rather chilly but sunny day. You wrapped your scarf a little tighter around your neck and stuffed your hands in your pockets as deep as possible to protect them from the cold. You could see your breath every time you breathed out. Your hot breath clung to your scarf, making it wet in the process. The wet spots on the scarf made you feel disgusted as it clung to your face uncomfortably. 'At least it keeps me warm' you thought to yourself.

   While you were walking along the road, you saw Takemichi, Hina and Naoto in the distance. "Hey there!" you greeted them as you got closer. Takemichi seemed surprised to see you. Hina greeted you with a smile while Naoto shuffled on his feet and tried to keep his eyes trained to the ground. You ruffled Naoto's hair as you finally arrived in front of them. "How are you?" You asked them, smiling and not noticing the steam that came out of Naoto's ears from embarrassment. Takemichi only sent him a knowing look. Hina was the only one that answered as the other two just stared into space, "We're fine! We just had our final exams!" "Glad to know you are doing well." You smiled at them making them smile in return.

   You saw how Hina and Takemichi kept throwing glances at each other. "Hey Sis! I'm going home. I don't like to waste time." Naoto spoke up for the first time after your arrival. You got the hint and took this opportunity to get to know Naoto. "Don't worry, Hina. I will make sure Naoto gets home safely. You never know what could happen." You smiled at Hina and placed your hand on Naoto's shoulder. "That would be great! Thank you, [Mn]!" Hina smiled at you in appreciation.

You had to drag Naoto away as he suddenly froze to the ground, throwing a helpless glance towards Takemichi who was already immersed in a conversation with Hina. "Come on, Naoto! Don't make me carry you home." You only laughed at Naoto's behaviour. At your half-hearted threat Naoto began to walk slightly in front of you. "How was school?" you tried to start a conversation. "Good." Naoto threw a glance over his shoulder as he kept his answer short. "Got any love confessions or letters? I'm sure all the girls are swarming around you!" you tried to lift the mood. "Uhm... no." Naoto timidly said. "What?! No way! I'm sure in a few years you will be flooded with love confessions! You will be the most handsome guy in your school!" During your outburst you grabbed Naoto's shoulders and looked at him dead in the eye to show him how serious you were. At the lack of a response you let Naoto go and began to walk slightly ahead of him because you stopped in the middle of the road earlier due to your outburst.

"Do you not like me?" you suddenly asked. "I guess I'm too used to people who enjoy being around me that I forgot it's impossible to be liked by everyone." you laughed awkwardly. "That's not it." Naoto grabbed your arm, making you turn around to face him. "It's just..." Naoto started to talk, not knowing how to express this. "You're intimidating." Naoto closed his eyes as soon as these words left his mouth.
