Chapter 12

Lena Pov

~ 2 Months pass~

Y/n and I have been dating for 3 months now and we even moved in with each other in a penthouse downtown. I was in my office working on invitations for a Christmas party I was hosting. My phone went off, Y/n texted me a bunch of pictures of themes for the party. I was too busy giggling that I didn't hear the knock at my office door.

"Ms. Luthor." Jess smiled. 

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't hear you knocking." I apologize.

"You have a guest." Jess explains. I allowed her to let them in while I continued to work.

"Well, if it isn't the wonderful Lena Luthor." A voice chuckled. I looked up and saw James Olsen.

"James." I say shocked. He chuckled.

"I kinda figured your reaction would be like that." James smiled. I couldn't help but smile back at him.

"How are you." he continued.

"I'm better now." I say trying to keep my coldness from taking over.

"That's good, I actually am here to apologize." James says slowly. I stayed quiet, what was I suppose to say.

"I'm so sorry I hurt you. You deserve so much better than how I treated you. Please forgive me, Lena." James frowns. I was shocked, after all those years of hurting, I didn't realize that he was hurting as well.

"I forgive you, but we can't date." I sit up in my chair.

"W-why." James frowns.

"Aren't you married." I frown

"We broke up, I was always thinking of you. So why can't we really date." James sighs

"I'm dating someone, that's all you need to know." I gave him my best CEO face

"Is it that Y/n L/n woman, you know the one who use to work with Bruce Wayne." James crosses his arms over his chest.

"Mr. Olsen, I have a lot of work to finish. Please leave or you will be forced to leave." I say coldly. James gets his things but stops at the door.

"I'm gonna be in town for a while, and trust me... I will win you back." James says and leaves. I sit back in my chair thinking of  what just happened.

"Shit." I curse.

I got home to Y/n cooking dinner.

"Hey babe, how was your day." Y/n asked. 

"Very busy, uhm, you." I change the subject.

"Sam and I went shopping for Christmas decorations and a huge tree." Y/n smiles as she sets dinner on the table. It was my favorite, chicken alfredo. I watched her eat for a little bit, trying to find the courage to tell her about James.

"What." Y/n laughed.

"I missed you today." I smile back causing her to blush.

"I gotta call from Alex, they have open spots at this place called the DEO. She asked me if I wanted to join." Y/n explains. I almost choked on my dinner.

"Do you want to do it." I asked.

"I didn't want to do it without us talking about it, I wanted to run it past you first." Y/n holds my hand.

"The DEO is a dangerous job, many people get hurt." I began.

" I think I can handle it, after all I did work for Bruce." Y/n  cleans up after we finished dinner. We sat on the couch and talked more about it.

"Promise me you'll be careful." I held her hands tightly.

"Lena, I promise." Y/n kissed me and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm glad I can talk to you about anything." Y/n smiles as we hugged. Right there, I felt guilty as hell, but I can't tell her. It would ruin our relationship.
