The Wise are a scary group even to me, even the thought of going to talk to them made me want to hide under the covers. But looking at the current surroundings, it didn't seem like I had an option.
"Where can we find the Wise?" I ask for any of the three to answer. They stopped their fighting for a second to ponder over it. I hadn't seen a single one of them since the meeting room, not that I've left my room to even see them.
My question never got answered as all supernaturals were called to the meeting room. Unwrapping myself from the blankets, my joints all popped and cracked as I went to my closet. The popping didn't go unnoticed, but they left it be since it was most likely a side effect of the injection.
I hoped I had enough time as I left them in my room and went to shower. I could hear them whispering behind the closed door, wondering what they were talking about. The warm water was all that I needed to feel some life enter back into my body. Hopping out and looking into the mirror, I was paler than normal and that was saying something.
My grey eyes looked over my body looking for an injury Rebecca might have put on my body, finding nothing out of the ordinary. So I just threw on my purple leggings and grey t-shirt, braided my hair, and left the bathroom. I had a feeling the necromancers still had a lot of work to do, aka I could still see more than the normal amount of spirits around.
When I opened the bathroom door all three men were looking at them, head to toe, whether that was looking for injuries or just checking me out. I could care less which one it was due to the killer hangover-like headache I had.
"You know you do not need to follow their instructions. There are plenty of others who can do your job. There is no need to push yourself after what happened." Bentley tried to pry me away from the outside door, seemingly a small beg to not leave.
"There is a lot of work that needs to be done here. I'm not just going to leave the others to clean up this spill. Come if you wish, I won't stop you since I'm feeling nice." They all looked like puppies with their tails wagging. I just chuckled and opened the door.
That was partly the truth, the other half was that I was scared to lose control again. Having three macho men with me will help. It might also give them a glance into necromancy since I have a feeling they will be around for a while.
The walk to the meeting half was quite peaceful, I suspect it was due to the three men behind me but I don't draw conclusions.
We were the last to arrive at the meeting hall. Many stared at us in confusion and questioned just what was going on. I couldn't care less and just decided to sit down and see what they had to say. Of course Ryder, Elliot, and now Bentley sat at the same table as me even though they were leaders of separate groups. I did have time to question them as the leader of the meeting started.
"We have all called you here for a rescue and recovery meeting. We have wolves still missing and spirits that need to be captured and questioned. I will need everyone to get into groups and go out searching, one necromancer to each group." You could hear and see a bunch of people upset at the last sentence. Many thought of us as slow and unwilful although we are much like witches.
I stood up ready to leave when someone grabbed my arm, it was Ryder. "We will go with you, just stay here and wait for us to gather some of our people. I might be of great service to you." He winked and started to walk over to his coven, the other two doing the same. I can only guess this is part of what they were talking about, being high up and all they could easily gather this information.
So I just sat back down in my seat and waited for them. It wasn't long before my attention was dragged to a set of heels stomping their way over to my table. Looking up from my nails, it seems that Rebecca wasn't done with me just yet.
She stomped up to be in a fit of rage and got close to my ear. "You need to stay away from Benny and the other supernaturals here you freak. You will learn your place and I will be taking my fiance back from you." Clearly, this is all she needed to say because she left quickly after.
I rub my face again, if I had known I would be in a huge fight over some alpha I wouldn't have come to this meeting. Even though I say this to myself, I still can't help looking back at the three of them talking to their groups and smiling.
