I am so sorry for blowing up your phone or computer with me editing. Here is a little sorry gift, another new chapter for this week.
It's been a couple of weeks since we all left the castle. Somehow we've made living in my small cabin work, of course with a new bed courteous of Ben. My injuries have also healed up quite nicely now, although I still do get some pain pangs once in a while.
Sitting outside on my porch swing, I look out by the woods to see Bentley running through the trees at top speeds. It's something I notice he likes to do when thinking or planning a nice dinner for all of us.
My thoughts drift back to the cabin when I hear my phone go off wherever I left it. Getting myself up, I go and grab my phone to see who it is. I'm not surprised when the caller ID says it's my mom. She has had a habit of trying to make plans with me these last couple of weeks. Seemingly eager to meet the three I've brought home and to baby me back to health.
Picking up the phone, my mother's voice drifts through the air. "Mia piccola stella, how have you been? I am missing you so very much, it's been too long since I've seen you. In fact, it's almost been six months." She takes a couple of breaths to ponder what she is thinking.
"Since you are feeling better, how about I go visit you while your father is away at a meeting this week? It'll be a grand time, I'll even bring my best recipes." I smile at her antics, she tries to bribe me every time even though she knows the door is always open.
"Well you better pack your bags.." looking down at my imaginary watch, "We plan on being very busy next week." It didn't take me saying much before she muttered something in Italian and kissed me goodbye on the phone.
By the time I had gotten off the phone, the sun had set already so I made my way into the kitchen to help with cooking and cleaning. All three men had their minds into the food they were creating.
It seemed Ben caught whatever creature he was after and was currently cooking it steak style. Elliot seemed to be working on a salad and garlic toast side considering all the fresh herbs at his sides. And Ryder, well he was cooking up some cookies, at least I think they were cookies.
Chuckling at him in my head I rolled up my sleeves and attempted to help out before I was kicked out of the kitchen.
—---------------------
In the morning I was awoken to a screeching sound outside the bedroom window. I had attempted to turn around but was held in place by two sets of arms. Ryder and Ben had made their way beside me in the XL king bed.
Ben grunted at me for trying to turn around and see what the sound was from. After my pointless struggle, he grabbed me by the torso and forced me back onto his chest where I promptly fell asleep at how cozy it was.
It was another hour or so until I had woken up again. Bentley in a seemingly better mood, let me go this time. With my newfound freedom, I went downstairs to grab myself a cup of coffee. Making my way down the stairs, halfway through combing my messy hair, I could hear pots and pans banging from my kitchen.
Rushing down the rest of the stairs, I found my mom in the kitchen cooking up a bunch of pasta meals all at once. She had always made me pasta even when I didn't ask for it, I'm sure a ghost passed it along the chain.
Looking at her from afar nothing was out of place. She still wore her hair up in that messy curly bun and even brought her favorite apron from home.
I snuck up behind her and gave her a huge smooch on the cheek. My smile grew wider when she turned around and hugged me. It had felt like forever when I saw her, she always made this lonely house feel like a home when I lived alone.
"Look at my little star, it seems like you grew up even more in the time that I haven't seen you. I have been keeping tabs on you through the chain, however." Gripping my hands she brought them up to her and kissed both of them while crisscrossed.
I only gave her a puzzled laugh, she had never done anything like that before. She gave her own laugh before explaining to me what she had done. "In a very old Italian folk tale, the mother would kiss her kids hands while they are crisscrossed and it would give the child luck in happiness and fertility."
"Well then let's hope your folk tale is as true as they say they are." Ducking into the kitchen, Ben gives me a cheeky smile and laughs deeply at the dark blush spreading across my cheeks. Although I had never thought about it, it is true that now I'm not alone.
I will constantly be surrounded with love and laughs from all three of my mates, and they might want to start a family together. I didn't let my thoughts wander and tried to distract my mother into teaching me some of her famous recipes.
My mom is a famous cook at her own restaurant in New York. In current days she is a retired necromancer and only does it when it is a life or death situation since age is creeping on to her slowly. My father is a businessman, I would always say he is part of the Irish mafia, and who am I one to say he isn't with all the business meetings he goes to.
Once Elliot had come back in from his workout and Ryder woke up, all five of us spent the day in the kitchen learning from my mom. Ryder, Elliot, and Ben seemed very interested in pasta recipes since they had also picked up on my love for noodles.
I could feel my heart swell at the three of them, they always tried their best to make me happy and feel loved. I always try my best as well, but I'm not really good at anything since they want to do everything for me themselves.
The night went on like this until it was time for bed. Cleaning up the mess in the kitchen and trying to stuff it in the fridge, we all trudged back to the bedroom after showing my mom to her spare room.
From now on I'm going to edit chapters before I upload them so I don't annoy anyone.
Poll:
How do we feel about a fluff/sexy chapter? Or do you think the book will do fine without those types of chapters?
**And if some of you don't want those types of chapters you will always be able to skip them without missing part of the story.
