Ryder POV
Nothing had happened, nothing at all. I could feel my heartbeat pump faster and faster as the seconds passed by with no signs of the pixie dust working. My mind thinking as fast as light as to what could have gone wrong. How could I, a coven leader mess up such an easy spell?
My mind stopped the sound of the clock being heard. The sound started growing and growing with no stop. Ben covered his ears, it being too much. That was when we saw it, a person walking towards the kitchen table. Looking around the person says the book on the table.
We next all saw this person being grabbed by hands coming from the floor, and without a doubt, I knew it was Kerra. My heart started to feel lighter, tears poking from my eyes. This was a great start to knowing how or where to find her.
The pixie dust fell to the floor all at once, done with its job. It would be easy to track down how she was taken now, a portal like that wasn't a common thing. Even I have never seen it, and I've done my years with black magic.
I look across from me, Ben and Elliot can see the joy on my face. "We need to look more into portals. That's a rare one even for me so it should make it easier." We all nodded at each other with a job to do. Ben and Elliot went back to the library and I grabbed my phone. We would need the help of someone close.
The phone didn't hit the third ring before Gaia picked up. We didn't say anything for a while until I spoke up. "We need your help." I held my breath. Over her time staying with us she gave us three the talk and gave us her number just in case something went wrong. How right could she be?
"Well, I figured that much, uccellino. There is no need to be scared of me, I can hear it through the phone. Now, where is mia piccola stella?" She seemed to be in a good mood. Not for long is all I could think.
"That is the problem, Gaia. Your daughter has gone missing and we can't find her. We know some stuff but we need help." The silence was once again taken up in the air. "I see. I will be over quickly." She hung up on me after that.
A new type of worry came over me, we had also learned in Gaia's time here that Kerra is an only child. Her parents would do anything for her, after all, she was the only child they could conceive.
I let that slip my mind and walked the hallway towards the library. The two other men were reading books and looking stuff up on their computers. Leaning on the door I clear my throat to get their attention.

"Gaia will be here soon, I broke the news to her." Elliot outwardly sighed almost like he was glad. "I'm glad you were the one who did it. That woman is scary and nothing like our beloved."
We took a moment to chuckle at him but quickly sobered up. We were all basking in the horrible silence that took over the place. It would never feel the same without her now. When I get my hands on her I'll never let her go, and so I put that energy into finding her.
Elliot POV
It had been only a couple of hours since we made the phone call to Gaia, and the sun was down and the moon was high in the sky. The other two had dozed off to sleep both slumping on each other. Since I didn't need much sleep I keep looking into books about portals.
It was silent other than the snoring from the couch when suddenly I heard a crash at the end of one of the bookshelves. My head snapped over in its direction and I was just out of my seat. I couldn't see anyone even with my night vision, so I take a little walk to see what fell over.
I weaved in and out of all of Kerra's shelves. Many filled with history books. I would have to remember to make saving her quick so I could teach her all these things in person. If I knew she liked history so much I would have taught her sooner.
Lost in my thought I slightly trip over something heavy on the floor. Curses fly from my mouth at how strong the item is. Looking down I see it's a heavy book with an old leather cover.
Picking it up I bring it back over to where I was sitting, curious about how this book fell. Just the weight of it would have kept it on the shelf.
Opening it, the book is all in a language I couldn't understand. Although I knew it was Latin from my old days that didn't mean I know Latin. The text seemed very old and written in heavy ink. Flipping through some of the pages I saw pictures and continued to see if I would find anything useful.
About halfway through the book, a loud knocking came from the front door. It scared me half to death and caused me to throw the book from my hands. It woke up the other two from their slumber and we all jumped up to see who it was.
Running to the front door we opened it to see it was Gaia and a man we had never met before. He had straight pushed-back brown hair while some gray streaks, brown eyes, and was quite pale and tall.
Based on him being next to Gaia and his description, I just could assume he was Kerra's father.
We welcomed them in to get them out of the cold rain and helped grabbed their things. The man looked around the place, like he missed this house, then looked at all of us.
I could smell he was a human, but he was still quite tall for one. He stuck out his hand and gave us a slight smile.
After we had all shaken his hand he looked back at Gaia and nodded his head. "Alright, boys let's get down to business shall we. I think we are going to need to call in the big guns."
