Graveyard

Yns pov:
I slowly walked into the graveyard and walked to the person who I wished wasn't there, I bent down and rubbed the tombstone, tearing up at the name

"hey momma, it's been a while since I got to talk to you, dad has been missing you like mad and lulu has been getting so much bigger" I let out a quiet sob

"i miss you so much momma, this past two years has been horrible without you and I wish you were here to help me with so much stuff,
Dad is missing you a lot and still talks to you daily, lulu always asks me or dad where you are, we simply say, in a much better place" I smiled wiping my tears

I kept talking to my mom for what felt like hours, I realised it was getting colder so I went to one more place before I left, I walked over to a tree near my moms grave and saw, my mom's, my dad's, Lucy's and my name carved into the tree, I smiled and walked to the entrance of the graveyard

When I was waking out i accidentally bumped into someone,

when I looked up I saw Daniel Seavey, a boy in my school, he is more... of a jock in the school, so I don't really talk to him that much, so much people say he's a player but i never really believed them, I backed up a little bit so we wouldn't be to close

"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going" I mumbled. "it's fine don't worry about it" he smiled. It was a comfortable silence until he spoke up again. "did you visit someone here?" He asked looking around the graveyard. "yeah, I visited my mom, she passed two years ago" I said looking at my feet. His face softened and he put his hand on my arm. "I'm so sorry, I never knew" he said quietly. "it's ok, not a lot of people know" I smiled at him

I looked up and saw the sky started getting slightly colder, I cursed myself for deciding to walk here, now I have to walk home in the cold, Daniel saw me looking up and he spoke up,
"hey, I was going to go get something to drink in the cafe near here before I went home, you wanna join?" He asked smiling. I nodded and we both walked out of the graveyard.

When we got to the cafe, Daniel opened the door for me and let me go in first, I ordered a danish and a tea, Daniel ordered a danish and apple juice, when I went to pay for mine, he payed for both, I glared at him and he smirked at me, we both sat down when we got our food

I looked up at him. "who did you visit at the graveyard if you don't mind me asking?" I asked. "I went to go see my granny, she passed a little over four years ago" I nodded. "I'm sorry" I looked down. "don't worry about it, she passed due to old age so it wasn't as bad" he smiled. I looked down and got a little upset, Daniel noticed and put his hand on my shoulder

"hey you ok?" He asked. "yeah, I just miss my mum a bit" I sighed. "I'm sorry" he sympathetically smiled. "it's ok, she isn't in pain anymore" I smiled back. "what does that mean?" He asked. "my mum died of cancer two years ago, she had it for five years" I looked everywhere bar his eyes. Daniels eyes softened "I'm so sorry" I whispered. "it's ok, don't worry about it" I looked up and smiled

We kept talking until we both decided to go home. "I could give you a lift if you like" he offered. "uh, sure" I got into his car and he handed me his phone. "put your address in" He gave me his phone and I put my address in, we also exchanged numbers as well

When we got to my house I lied over the arm rest and gave him a hug. "thank you for today" I smiled. "no problem, I'll see you around school?" He asked hopeful. "definitely" I nodded. I got out of his car and walked up my driveway, when I got to my door, I turned around and waved goodbye to him, he waved back and drove off, I walked inside and saw Lucy and my dad on the couch

"hey, where'd you go?" My dad asked looking at me at the door. "I went to see mum and I went to a cafe with a guy from my school, was that's ok?" I asked. "yeah it's fine hunny, just be careful" he warned. "I will I promise" I smiled. "dinner will be ready in ten minutes by the way" he reminded me. "ok let me go change" I ran upstairs and closed my door, I flopped on my bed and saw I got a text off Daniel

I put my phone down and smiled

Maybe he isn't a bad guy as everyone says he is
