Chapter 16 : A path of change

*At U.A. : The Next Day

Izuku is currently sitting on a bench next to the school entrance, the school gave the students two days off, and apparently someone wanted to meet him. He was able to finally got back his White two-piece suit from Mei who has finished changing the materials.

"Hmmm....I wonder who it could be." Izuku wondered to himself. Maybe it's Kirishima asking to spar...or Kaminari wanting to learn the art of the drip...or maybe Bakugo did change!?

Izuku then spotted someone walking towards him "You're...Todoroki, right?"

Shoto Todoroki stood in his civilian clothing and nodded "Hello. Thanks for coming on such a short notice."

Izuku stood up and brushed the dust off of his suit "Well, figured that you might need my help with something."

Shoto nodded " I want to visit my mother."

*On the car ride.

Izuku is taking a nap, but he glanced to his left to see Shoto intensely staring at him "Anything wrong?"

"I am observing."

"And why, exactly?"

Shoto didn't reply and just kept staring at Izuku, like he was trying to see into his soul. Izuku quickly turned back around and looked out the window instead. They were traveling into the city to where the hospital is.

But when Shoto was about to try and get a sample of Izuku's hair, his phone rang. He picked it up and answered the call "Big Sister?"

"Shoto! Why are you suddenly visiting mother out of the blue like this? Why didn't you wait so I can come with you!? I thought you mentioned about emotional support or something."

Shoto stayed silent, before he hung up on his sister. He then looked out the window on the other side as well.

"So that's what I'm here for....Wouldn't bringing a family member along be better?"

"I want to make sense of what you said....I want to see." Shoto replied without looking at him.

The rest of the car ride was silent.

*At the Hospital

Shoto is currently standing in front of his mother's hospital room. He wanted to open the door, but he seems to can't bring himself to do it.

"You can stay there all day if you'd like." Izuku spoke up while leaning agains the wall, "But to change, you need to take a step forward. Take that step."

Shoto's hand hover over the door handle "I know what I need to do...but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. My fate is to-"

"Screw fate." Izuku bluntly replied.

Shoto looked at him.

Izuku pointed at himself "A person I really look up to once told me that, Fate is a nothing but a force to be combatted, A man can master his own destiny if he chose to fight fate. I fought mine, and here I am. You could stand there forever, but nothing will change...or open that door."

Shoto took a deep breath, and grabbed the handle "Pardon the intrusion."

He slowly opened the door "Midoriya, can you-"

"I'll wait out here, there are some business I shouldn't stick my nose in either." Izuku grinned and gave Shoto a thumbs up.

Shoto nodded and walked in before closing the door. Izuku can faintly heard the chatter inside, and a voice of a woman talking. He just waited outside.
