After the events of Dahlia and the final death of Esther at last, they had all rested up and regained their strengths for another battle that was sure to come their way. After all, Kat and the rest of them knew that the battle wouldn't stop with Mikaelson blood. There were many other enemies out there. Some Katherine didn't want at their doorstep. Especially, when she had a child to raise with Klaus. And after these events, Klaus had grown closer to Freya, not judging her as often. After all, she'd helped them take down their Aunt Dahlia. That made him see that she didn't have any other motives. Plus, she was helping them tend to Hope.

It was a beautiful day in New Orleans. Kat was at the compound, while Klaus was off chasing after his crazy ex, which she wished he would just kill and be done with it. After all, no one wanted a crazy or psychotic ex running around. And just a few minutes in the courtyard listening to Aurora let Katherine know how insane she was. In the meantime, Elijah had gone off to deal with Aurora's less insane brother, whoever he was. So, the compound wasn't as protected as it should have been.

Freya was upstairs with Hope, while Kat came downstairs to head for the kitchen. And in an instant, she felt a hand around her throat by someone that stood behind her. Then she heard a familiar voice from her and Elijah's past, back when she'd been a very young vampiress.

"Hello, Katherine. Long time no see."

"Autumn," she said, remembering all too well. If it hadn't been for Elijah finding out that she'd been in trouble, she knew that Autumn would've killed her back then. "What are you after now? Elijah isn't with me anymore."

"So, he's not a thing anymore," Autumn commented. "Too bad. I had this whole thing planned. Oh, well. I guess we'll just have to see who cares about you more, then." Then, before she knew it, she was inside a warehouse, being tossed to the floor, a few other people there, looking not so great. She realized that they were humans in transition.

She got to her feet and looked at the red-head.

"You know, whoever finds me first, you'll regret this. Elijah may not have been able to kill you back then, but he sure as hell can now. And Klaus won't stand for this, either," she said and reminded her.

"Last time I checked, they're both dealing with what they think are bigger problems," Autumn replied. "Since when does Klaus care about you?"

"We buried the hatchet a while ago. You hurt me, Klaus will bring hell on you," Kat answered her, even though she knew she didn't have to.

"Well, that's a new one," Autumn commented to her.

"You know, revenge is overrated. Why don't you find a better life for yourself than this? You're a vampire. You can do anything you want. I know you think I took Elijah from you, but we're a few centuries apart. I didn't take him from you. What was your plan, anyway? Kill me and win him back? It doesn't work like that. Believe me, finding a new life would suit you better."

"Here's an idea. How about you shut up. You talk too much," Autumn snapped, annoyed suddenly, not being nice anymore. She then left the warehouse, locking her inside.

Rebekah had just glimpsed Autumn blur off with Katherine, when she left the parlor. When she did, she called Elijah, who was with Klaus, both having taken care of the two threats.

"Rebekah," Elijah answered.

"I just got a glimpse when I came out of the parlor. Unless Aurora has a twin, there's only one other red-head that would be after Katherine. She took her."

"Autumn," Elijah stated.

"I'm going to rip her apart, limb from limb," Klaus threatened.

"We'll deal with this. Stay there, and please be on alert," Elijah replied, before hanging up.

Hours went by with them searching high and low for her, both equally angry at her coming after Katerina. No one hurt her and lived. However, Elijah knew that if it weren't for him not killing her in the past for trying to go after Katerina, they wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. And even though he and Katerina weren't exactly together anymore, he'd never want something to happen to her. Especially, when it came to her up against the supernatural. Anyone with half a brain knew that a human didn't have a chance against a vampire. Katerina was good at defending herself, but they knew she couldn't always do so. She was only human, descended from Travelers or not.

After they'd dealt with Autumn, they finally found Katerina in a warehouse with some people that were in transition. One that had already bitten her was a vampire now, though. She was ready to fight some more of them, having already killed a couple with a stick she had, but realized that she didn't need to now. Both of them were there.

A few minutes afterward, they were all dead with their hearts ripped out, so she finally dropped the stick in her hand.

"Took you long enough," she commented. "The next time either of you have an ex that might show up in the future, warn me next time," she added.

"I'll deal with this," Elijah said, talking about the mess in the warehouse, since he knew it wasn't his place anymore, even if he did still love her, and always would. He knew where the boundaries lay, after all.

The hybrid approached her.

"As far as I know, that was the last of our exes. We took care of both of them. Now, I think it's time we went home," he told her, as he looked at her to be sure she was okay. It didn't look like much was taken from her, which he was thankful for, but he still knew she should get back to the compound to get healed by Freya. With the fiasco with everyone seeming to show up that were some kind of enemies, he didn't want to risk blood. He figured she wouldn't want to, either. He knew with her having her happiness with him and Hope, she liked being human, despite the dangers of being in the Mikaelson family.

"Good. Let's go home," she replied, glad there weren't anymore exes out there to worry about of theirs. She knew there would always be enemies out there, though.

Klaus put an arm around her and then they headed home.

When they got home, Freya healed her wound magically, so she was just fine. Then, once she'd cleaned herself up and had changed, she took Hope to the nursery, putting her to bed for the night. Then, after a few minutes, she and Klaus both went to bed together.
