After Elijah met with the different factions, after some persuasion, they accepted the invitation to the Blessing celebration that would be held in honor of the witches.

While Elijah was busy with that, Oliver and Klaus were in the church, Oliver having brought Cary to Klaus, since Klaus wanted to talk to his relative. Oliver roughly dragged him into the church for the meeting.

"You don't stop squirming, I don't care who you know, I'm gonna kneecap you right here," Oliver threatened.

Klaus vamp-sped toward them, annoyed.

"When I asked you to bring Cary to me, it was as my guest. Might I recommend you release him before I opt to release you from your mortal coil."

"I found him like you asked, and he jumped me. Now, his pack's been going at mine since the beginning of time. I don't owe him a thing."

"You see, it's that short-sighted attitude that led to the demise of the werewolves," Klaus reminded him.

"I'm pretty sure Marcel and the witches did that," Oliver replied.

"The packs should have been united. Marcel saw that weakness and he exploited it. If you seek to rebuild with only the Crescents, you may as well stay in your hovels in the bog!" He turned to Cary and smiled kindly. "I don't believe we've had the pleasure of an introduction."

"Legend says you're descended from our line," he replied to Klaus.

"The legends are true. Come here." He led him away and pulled his ring out of his pocket. "I understand that this ring was passed down through generations of our family. I need to know what stone it housed."

"I never saw it with a stone," Cary replied.

"Could you ask around for me, mate? Hmm? See what you can find out," Klaus asked of him.

That night, the Feast of Blessings parade began. The witches marched down the street, and the three currently-alive Harvest girls were hoisted above the crowd on thrones. The girls were dressed for the element they represented in the Harvest—Monique in floral earth tones, for earth, Davina in bright red-orange for fire, and Abigail in white, for air. Genevieve anxiously watched it from the sidelines.

"It's time. Klaus will be at the event, which means the compound will be empty. You know what to do," Genevieve said to a witch next to her. She then joined the Harvest girls on stage to greet the crowd. "Now, in accordance with the Fête des Bénédictions, the witches of New Orleans bless you all!"

The crowd cheered and Genevieve stepped off the stage. Monique stepped forward first, and created a mild earthquake that rumpled the ground below them. Then, Abigail stepped forward and raised her arms to create very strong wind that blew around the crowd of tourists. Finally, Davina stepped forward, turned around, and raised her palm to the sign behind her, which immediately ignited with fire and set off dozens of fireworks, which made the crowd cheer again.

At the compound, the male witch that Genevieve sent to fetch the grimoire, looked around for it and then saw it on the table in the courtyard. He went to grab it, but then he heard Klaus and saw him on the balcony.

"A little too easy, isn't it? I've been expecting you." He vamp-sped down to face him. "You're late."
